Chelsea to bid £176m for Casimero? I had to check it wasn’t April 1st.😊
February 20, 2018 at 2:37 pm #1601925Chelsea man
I havent seen those reports but i bet i can guess the paper theyve came from. Either don balon or dario gol?
February 20, 2018 at 2:57 pm #1601938YB – I do not see Hazard answering a question honestly as courting Real. It is a well know fact that he is an avid admirer of Zidane hence the constant links and questions. Equally, he always states that he is happy at Chelsea
Anything can happen and we all know that if Hazard really wanted to leave for Real (or Barca) then very little could stop that unless the club itself did not want him. My view is that it is quite clear that Hazard has the skill and ability to play for Real but I do wonder sometimes about the consistency, however, you could argue it would be easier for him in Spain and he could flourish just like Ronaldo..?
Guess we are going to have to wait for a few more months until we find out what will happen…? KTBFFH
February 20, 2018 at 3:24 pm #1601945I would love this saga to be put to bed finally this summer. if we have to retain him, he should sign a new 5 year contract. if he wants to leave. then the door is wide open. player is bigger than Chelsea. if Real Madrid want him, then they should bid him this summer. if they don’t bid this summer, and he doesn’t sign a new contract. we should go ahead with our plans. will he be part of our plans if he doesn’t leave and doesn’t sign a new contract? i think that is tough decision for the management and the board to make. but i would say no. if we are to learn something from the Sanchez saga, then we need to tell him to make his mind before he plays for the team. Arsenal let Sanchez play without resolving his contract. and its United who are reaping the rewards. Sanchez is fit and in good shape thanks to Arsenal. can we afford to do similar? i don’t think so. Courtois i think will leave this summer. because i think his kids live there. but if he decides to sign and then include a buyout clause. then its even better. we need to search for a new keeper whilst we are trying to resolve the Hazard contract.
That is my last post on Hazard future. and that is my opinion. i hope things get sorted this summer. and then again i don’t have faith in this board. we should have resolved the Courtois future last summer. but we failed to do because of £200k wages he has been demanding. funnily we are now ready to pay him that?
February 21, 2018 at 9:27 am #1602167Good news? And bad news?
“The Belgian number one is thought to be a target for Real Madrid. So is the goalie open to the switch? Courtois told Spanish reporters the following after the Barcelona game:
I’m not clear about my future, what I said that my heart is in Madrid was misunderstood, although I have two children in Spain, in Madrid, and that’s not easy, I have one year left and I’m happy and talking to Chelsea.
They have bet on me from the first moment and that is not forgotten, I do not think Florentino Perez calls me, he will call my agent and he will listen to him.”
February 21, 2018 at 10:56 am #1602229Must admit that again, I think the player is not being misquoted but is having his honesty turned on him
We all know about the girlfriend and kids plus he enjoyed his time in Madrid so it seems quite obvious to me that he will return there at some stage. BUT, that does not mean in his football life…?
Like Hazard, I believe that Courtois is settled in London and is enjoying his football and so long as Chelsea offer them decent long term contracts then I think both could easily stay. KTBFFH
February 21, 2018 at 12:47 pm #1602301Bored of coutious wanting to leave. He can be replaced. He doesnt make what you would call mistakes but hes not a great shot stopper like de hea or oblak. He 1 on 1 and you just know itll be a goal.
Let him goFebruary 21, 2018 at 2:10 pm #1602361De Gea, Courtois, Hazard, De Bryne, Pogba, Dele Ali, Kane all Bernabeu bound this summer, and thats only from the prem (dont forget their new team mate Neymar of course!) according to the comics …….. Now maybe i am a bit niaive here, but there is a bit of me thinks that it might not all be true!!!!
February 21, 2018 at 5:16 pm #1602447Point being hazard and coutious actually want to go
February 21, 2018 at 6:13 pm #1602460And the others don’t
February 21, 2018 at 7:18 pm #1602501No point being that every outstanding player under the sun is being linked with Real.
Point being that apart from Real Madrid nobody knows who the actual targets are.
Point being that like the rest of the clubs under UEFA jurisdiction Real have to adhere to FFP.
Point being if you believe everything you read in the press Conte would be coaching both PSG and Real now and we would have Carlo Ancellotti and Luis Enrique as our coaches with Belotti as DOF!
February 21, 2018 at 8:33 pm #1602545Personally getting Casemiro makes sense for us.him and Kante will form a formidable partnership at the heart of our midfield. and we can with stand at any pressure. i think Chelsea should include him at any deal that takes Courtois to Madrid. as i can’t see him at Chelsea. if your kids live there, you will want to be there.
February 21, 2018 at 8:38 pm #1602552I don’t think central midfielder is the area to strengthen. If Courtois goes to Madrid, we should ask for Asensio or Bale
February 21, 2018 at 9:15 pm #1602574If we Get Casemiro it will mean we can play 3-4-3 or back four. both of them have energy, which means they will form the perfect partnership. that could release our flair players. in my opinion Kante needs a partner like that. and our midfield is sorted for the next 5-7 years.
February 21, 2018 at 9:36 pm #1602588Chelsea midfield is exactly where we need strengthening its average to say the least
February 21, 2018 at 10:01 pm #1602613Good point Pylon. i agree with you there. if we get Casemiro, then we know we won’t get battered in the middle again. i’m in the camp that feels we need a Casemiro like midfielder.
February 21, 2018 at 10:28 pm #1602626We won’t get Casemiro unless we sell Baka or/and Drinkwater and/or Barkley. For me, we should focus on the creative department and striker. If Hazard stays, we need somebody to support him. Mahrez for example, or Bale, or Asensio, or Dybala. If he leaves, this area should be an absolute priority.
And striker, I don’t think there will be debate on this. And if Courtois leave, we need a new GK. Central midfield is packed now with Kante, Baka, Drinkwater, Barkley, and Ampadu can play there too. There will also be Loftus-Cheek returning
February 21, 2018 at 10:46 pm #1602630I can’t see Drinkwater staying beyond this summer. as for Bakayoko, if we can get Casemiro, he will have his work cut out. but still i feel he will have plenty of game time as we will play 60+ games a season. if we sell Drinkwater, then getting Casemiro will be sensible. if we get that kind of midfielder alongside Kante. then we can go for another striker, attacking midfielder and winger or two if Hazard leaves, plus a new keeper should Courtois leave. i totally agree with bluepylon. our midfield is weaker.
February 21, 2018 at 11:43 pm #1602663Chelsea.man: I still think that the priority should be the other way around. We need to get a new striker and a new creative player first. If after that we still have enough money: we can try to get Casemiro. I think we all can see that Roman Abramovich isn’t spending like crazy anymore. We got Giroud, not Auba. We got Barkley, not Alli. I don’t think we want to put our heftiest transfer amount on a defensive midfielder.
February 22, 2018 at 8:28 am #1602728As the conversation appears to have moved to our midfield lets review
Kante is the main man and being targeted by PSG (if rumours are to be believed) but I believe we will do everything to keep him so he is the obvious starter
We then have Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Fabregas and potentially RLC or MvG (plus maybe some others I am not aware of). Do people see Barkley as a midfield player like potentially Fabregas when we are at home and want to take the game to the opposition…? I think it is clear that Bakayoko has not met the expectations but would he come good next season? Drinkwater I see as only improving but will effectively only be a decent squad player capable of providing cover at best
I have never been a massive fan of Fabregas especially in the middle but do acknowledge he is more influential when pushed forward but he is getting slower and slower each season so I expect Barkley to assume that mantle (assuming he remains fit)
Therefore, I would argue that we clearly need another decent first team choice to play alongside Kante. Could that person be Luiz – I think he is capable but do not expect him to still be at Chelsea next season due to his reported differences with Conte. I do not believe that RLC is good enough or capable so as I see it the only option is to go out and buy someone. Who that should be – I have no idea and obviously have to be wary when you see the performances of Bakayoko. In that respect, and assuming that Conte stays, then I would prefer someone that he knows well rather than taking a calculated punt…? KTBFFH
