Pepsi…please tell us in your infinite wisdom what is a decent first bid we can put in for any player where it doesn’t get rejected?…EXACTLY!…how long is a piece of string?…twice as long as one end to the centre!.Mate, this is not like 15 years ago when Roman first breezed in and if we were interested in a player we asked the player’s club to name their price!.Chelsea Football Club is a business now and as such we have to look for value for money and not carry on like a rich kid where money is no object let loose in a sweet shop!
June 11, 2017 at 4:54 pm #1493168Wise fan, last summer you were pushing the club to pay £75m for in your words a “world class Lukaku” this summer you’re criticising the club for attempting to sign Lukaku??? Make your mind up mate! 🙂
June 11, 2017 at 5:07 pm #1493170I honestly cant understand why weve bid for him in the first place. Why would he leave and why would juve want to sell. Hes one of the best wingbacks in the world obviously hes not available its like weve put a random punt in for the best there is then just go from there

June 11, 2017 at 8:08 pm #1493210999, That is a pure lie mate ! Can you prove anywhere that i have advocated that we should sign Lukaku for £75m? Although i supported his signature in the past,i have always been consistent with my criticism that paying even £65m for Lukaku which was the price quoted at the time was not a smart business. but that circumstance is totally different to the one we currently find ourselves. At that time Costa was very much in our picture and we never had this fallout. So we wanted someone to give a competition to Costa. Not someone to replace him right?
Now we are talking about a situtation where we risk losing Costa, and in his replacement we are looking for a player who has never led the line of a team that has won the league or say a single trophy. Costa as volatile as he is knows whatever it takes to lead a successful team while the same can’t be said about Lukaku.
The ideal situation should have been retaining Costa while Lukaku settles. And for heaven’s sake i won’t say its a smart business in paying £100m for Lukaku. That is disaster written on it watch out and mark my words !
June 11, 2017 at 8:15 pm #1493212Er Wisefan, if it’s me you referring to and calling me hypocritical as well…that’s a bit naughty of you lad, the link I posted was a factual account of an England youth side with CFC representation winning a tournament that they won last year. Now what on earth has that got to do with transfer rumours? Dear Lord!! RDP…I see your ‘wow’ and raise you 10 wows. I’m guessing everytime we are linked with any half decent player and they turn us down, there’s going to be wailing and gnashing of teeth on here. It’s going to be a long summer.
June 11, 2017 at 9:55 pm #1493218I want big signings / I don’t want big signings / I want big signings / I don’t want big signings / I want big signings / I don’t want big signings /I want big signings / I don’t want big signings I want big signings / I don’t want big signings / I want big signings / I don’t want big signings / I want big signings / I don’t want big signings…

June 11, 2017 at 10:32 pm #1493223Wise fan, be very careful about throwing around accusations of lieing.
I don’t lie and there is absolutely no need for me to lie your words are there for all to see on your posting history.
Your post @6:43pm on the 5/08/2016 says “I would rather pay the £75m Everton are asking for a World Class Lukaku” I await your apology. 🙂
June 11, 2017 at 10:50 pm #1493227999, I didn’t advocate for Chelsea to sign Lukaku for anywhere near £75m. I remember we had agreed that Lukaku was a good player which i still see, but not an upgrade to Costa. But most of our discussions last summer was who sold Lukaku and why wasn’t a buy back clause not inserted? And media quote at the time was that Everton were holding for £65m which i was against paying. But you have to take in to account that the reason as to why we wanted to sign Lukaku was either to partner Costa or ease the workload on Costa. Now we are talking about Lukaku leading our line for himself. So the question raised here is this. Is Lukaku an upgrade to Costa?
June 11, 2017 at 10:59 pm #1493228Your words Wise fan on the 5/08/2016 @6:43pm ” I would rather pay the £75m Everton are asking for a World Class Lukaku.”!!!!
According to you on 5/08/16 @6:43pm Lukaku was World Class now you seem to have changed your mind I don’t have a problem with that but just be truthful about it and don’t throw false allegations around when your words are there for all to see!
June 11, 2017 at 11:24 pm #1493230I don’t know how you can say £75m when we were debating £65m at the time. I was counting of Costa staying at the time. So we wanted someone to contribute goals from else where on the pitch. Because Hazard was hit and miss at the time on the back of that disasterous season. Pedro was more likely to be sold then contribute goals. And as we all knew Willian strongest point wasn’t goal scoring. So signing Lukaku who scored 18 league goals at the time made sense. But never in a million years would i said let him lead the line by himself. Do you think Lukaku can lead the line against Champions league teams since he has never played and never experienced leading a line on a title winning team. My original point was that there was no wisdom on Conte sending that sms to Costa. And more bizare is if we are counting only Lukaku. Which means we would be on where we are or may be even worse. Unless we get like for like Costa replacement in goals and all round game. So far i can’t see how Lukaku alone can fill that void. But i stand to be proven wrong.
June 11, 2017 at 11:44 pm #1493232Let us hope this is correct and Conte backs off from his hardline stance. Give the dialogue a chance. Until we get a like for like replacement we need Costa in our team. And more importantly remember he costs £0m.
June 12, 2017 at 2:06 am #1493240The rumour today is about James Rodrigues. I don’t think we should go for him. Moreover his price is 70m. I am afraid he will be a flop like Sheva or Torres. James is not even regular at Real. He was regular for Porto and Monaco. I don’t know, but I am against signing a world cup wonder.
June 12, 2017 at 6:49 am #1493247Wise fan, are you for real????
Firstly you claim I’m lieing then when I reproduce you’re exact words and the post that it came from you respond with “I don’t know how you can say £75m”.
I didn’t say we should pay £75m for Lukaku and claim he was “world class” that was you and came from your post @6:43pm on the 5/08/2016.
Stop trying to cover you’re tracks and do the honourable thing by firstly admitting you said what you said last August, admit you’ve completely changed your mind about Lukaku being World Class “but still the club is pushing for a player whose record against the top 6 in the PL is abysmal” your words again!
Clearly as proven by your own words I haven’t lied and you were completely wrong to accuse me of lieing but hey ho there are worst things going on in this world of ours!
June 12, 2017 at 7:01 am #1493248Hart to Chelsea as back upto Courtois anyone?.With Begovic gone is Blackman ready to step in and fill the void?.Hart can’t have turned that bad,he’s still the prefered choice for England unless it doesn’t say much about England’s alternative keepers.Hart’s seems to be at a loose end after being frozen out at Man.City.Maybe the stumbling block is Hart’s current wages and no one else can afford him?.In my humble opinion he hasn’t turned into that bad a keeper and he could keep Courtois on his toes if we’re looking to add competition in the squad. At this moment in time Hart effectively hasn’t got a club,if he took a wage cut he could come hereally and initially warm the bench.Let’s not forget there was talk not long ago about Courtois heading off to Spain!
June 12, 2017 at 7:04 am #1493249mtal, Hart would be a great back up to Courtois but I can’t see Hart being happy being a No 2 that’s why he left City and being a No 2 would almost certainly cost him his England place.
June 12, 2017 at 8:03 am #1493263999…Hart’s England place in jeopardy anyway if he can’t find a club…which club is likely to take him on with his current nt salary?.I don’t think Hart’s in a position to be picky unless he opts to sit on his knackers at home while still picking up his Man.City wages for the duration of his contract!
June 12, 2017 at 8:28 am #1493269Wise fan
I wouldnt build your hope up about costa staying. Theres no way back from this now surely. The club cant allow someone to take the piss as much as he has
Intreastinf stuff coming out of the dembele camp. The celtic striker and agent both putting criptic messages on twitter. I wouldnt be suprised if its us in for him. Luakaku and dembele?
June 12, 2017 at 8:32 am #1493271I’m still not convinced on Lukaku. Poor record against the so called big teams, although he scored 20+ goals, he tends to score 2 or 3 goals in a match instead of scoring week in week out. Not convinced he can do what Costa did v Southampton away or Man City away last season.
Personally if we do get Lukaku, we have to buy another striker to put pressure on him and also a striker that can actually link play while holding up the ball.
June 12, 2017 at 8:35 am #1493273Wise fan… wow… let me guess your account was hacked… let me guess you want zinidine Sudanese to replace conte.
I don’t call Costa world class because he’s only scored two goals in 14 games for Chelsea in the champions league. And has only played for us for one and a half seasons. If he stays he can be a bench warmer.
Bp – lukaku has outscored Costa two out of the last three seasons.
Anyhow. No player has signed so not really going to comment.
