Saw this link… Got to say Costa makes my blood boil and winds me up and he’s a chelsea player…

Wise fan… Yeah agree.. We should be trying some and prtty sad to see the names being linked out of the club.. My only concern about it was last season when we were sh*t, we brought in the youngsters and were not overly convincing. It is a fine balancing act and we havent got it right yet.

Interesting comments from JT and undoubtedly Chelsea do have a whole crop of exciting youngsters.

Its easy to say what JT said from the sidelines re the Monaco young players with the inference that Chelsea youngsters should be playing in the first team one or two maybe should but as RDP has pointed out when given their opportunity they don’t always take their chances Loftus Cheek being a perfect example.

The pressure is on Chelsea Managers to deliver trophies and regular CL football and if they don’t rightly or wrongly they lose their jobs and playing in the PL is tougher for young players than it is in Ligue 1 or La Liga.

The last few weeks on here have been critical of the club not supporting the Manager in the transfer market seemingly the club are trying to do that currently now are we to criticise the club again for supporting the Manager in the transfer market because it prevents young Chelsea players coming through? That’s a no win situation for the club.

The most successful club at bringing young players through is Southampton but when was the last time they won a trophy?

We’ve danced around this situation so many times on here and despite everyone wanting to see an Osgood a Hudson or a Wilkins coming through its still no easy task as JT himself might find out one day should he ever become Chelsea Manager.

I dont want Bonucci and Nainggolan both already 30 years old and very expensive, some times the players that are linked to Conte and I am not saying its his choices but it does worry me. Yes you need a certain kind of quality but you also need to think of the long term good of the team and club. As someone said its a balancing act but it is achievable.

What a stupid statment and people lapping it up. We have better young players than monaco first team who got to the CL semi. I understand the point he was making but its just not true is it. Do we have better players than bakayoko mbappe fabinho lemar and mendy? Absolutley not. If we did then they would be starting for us. Clearly conte and the club disagree

So IT has dropped down to the Championship to play for Villa and one of the reasons being stated is that he just could not face playing against Chelsea.
We will therefore no doubt get them in the Cup!!!!!!

not nice,I dont think we have to worry about Bonucci coming because he wont be and we are seemingly chasing Rudiger anyway and whilst Conte showed some interest in Nainngolan last summer there’s been little to no linkage to Nainngolan this summer and the pursuit of Bakayoko seemingly rules it out anyway.

The targets seem fairly well defined now and its a matter of either getting them over the line or moving on to the back up list.

phwepsi – have to agree with you and it does make my blood boil at times when some take a blinkered approach of having to promote from within regardless…?

Up to the academy we certainly have a great crop of youngsters. There is a massive gulf between that level and making the first team. I do believe that given the right opportunity some will make it but the onus is emphatically on the young players to stay grounded, focussed and above all keep of being prepared to learn. those that think they have made it annoy me intensely as they are wasting a golden opportunity to play for one of the worlds biggest clubs at the highest level…!! Tammy Abraham signs a new 5 year contract with Chelsea.

Tammy could be the one but 1905’s right we might have a great crop of youngsters and we’re adding to them with a couple of very good signings in that area already but for any young player to come through and play regularly in the Chelsea first team they have to be truly exceptional which is why it’s so difficult for players from our great crop of youngsters to come through to be regulars in the Chelsea first team.

Nat Chalobah looks a prospect but his younger brother Trevoh might be an even bigger prospect fingers crossed.

Perhaps Tammy could be the one but he still has a mountain to climb let’s hope he can make it.

The comparison to Monaco is not the best this Monaco Youth team is a myth:

    – Most of the players they used in their 1st 11 last season are not youth products they were signed from other clubs where they had a substantial amount of first team games behind them. Subasic, Raggi, Glik, Bakayoko, fabinho, lemar, Sidibe, Moutinho, Falcao, Silva and Mendy almost the entire team. The only youth player is Mbappe.

    – Monaco don’t spend like Chelsea do (they did for a couple seasons with James and Falcao but that spending hasn’t last)

    – They sporadically challenge for the french title and are not consistently a Champions League club, they come and go from the competition.

My optimism for this window is now completely gone. Think all of us hoped to bring 3-4 world class players in to go for the prem and the CL. Its now july the 4th. Pre season is in 3-4 days? We were all told to wai for july the 1st where dreams could come true. But of course. Still nothing. Currently brought one backup keeper in. Bakayoko has been having a medical for 2 weeks now. Rudiger was meant to be having his today. Aparently thats far from the mark. Havent even agreed a fee for him. Chasing alex sandro for over a month now with no movment. Currently have one striker. Arnt even close to signing another. But most worrying… i think the least we could of expected was conte or hazard extension but of course not. We are chelsea. Pathetic

    – We said the 1st July onwards was when Chelsea will start announcing players and that came true.

    – The Media and us posters on this forum have no idea whats going on with the Bakayoko and Rudiger deals apart from the fact the deals are imminent which everyone is reporting.

    – Chelsea could be letting Bakayoko have his full holiday before finalising. Rudiger is due to just start his holiday so he will miss most of preseason anyway even if he does sign this week.

So I don’t see what the problem is. Still almost all the top clubs across Europe have signed no one of top pedigree. Everton are the only credible movers and shakers to date.

Phwepsi let me remind you that we are second to United in terms of Premier League wins and the only team in London with a European Cup trophy.

Now lets see what Abramovic and co have up their sleeve!

So July 01st did trigger something, and that is lots of outs, but think we can all agree the Nike deal in which new signings could only wear the new strip is indeed a complete red herring.
Over the last three or four days the sky source reporting in general has pretty much got things right, and as it stands bar Costa being linked to AM, we ain’t linked with anyone anymore.
It’s got last day panic written all over it again, well suppose that served us well last season.

CFC1905…Chalobah being a back up with Faregas is assuming Matic has already exited the club, but it’s all gone quiet on that front. If Bakayoko comes we’ll have at least 5 players vying for 2 midfield roles.Chalobah is already making rumblings that he wants more of a prominent part in the 1st team and not just a bit part like last season and I can see sinister forbodings of Chaloba’s fate if the club’s/Conte’s hand is forced…Matic is the more established player on bigger wages,Chalobah has potential and is just breaking through but Chalobah is the easier option to cash in on like the club did with Ake.The club seem to regard our young players as ‘meh!’,’easy come easy go’,’3-a-penny’,plenty more where they come from!…without even battering an eyelid!.There’s already a queue of clubs in the wings waiting to take Chalobah on and I don’t just mean in a loan deal.

Id rather sell chalobah with a decent buy back and keep matic. If chalobah improves then buy him back. Cant go wrong

My main concern is again on the attacking department. It is disappointing that there has been no announcement except Caballero but I think this transfer window is difficult for almost all EPL teams except City that have already added 2 good additions.

It hasn’t been announced yet, but it seems to me that Bakayoko is a certainty. Less sure for Rudiger, I could not care less as I still think we’re good enough in centre back department. Is it true that we need Costa to leave first before being able to sign a new striker? If so: we’re screwed. Costa only wants to go to Atletico and we all know Atletico are on a transfer ban. And they don’t need to rush to sign Costa or whoever they want as they cannot play anyway until January

999…can’t help being cynical here.To me the club offering Abrahams a 5 year contract is no big deal,it’s just a cheap standard procedure way for them to have first dibs on a player who looks a bit above the norm just to keep him as an ‘option’ like one of those space saver fifth wheel you have in the boot of the car gathering dust, the wheel only gets used in an emergency to replace one of the four regular wheels when there’s a puncture then gets taken off again when the punctured wheel is replaced or repaired. The club has done that to countless of young prospects before shoving them out on loan,Ake,Macreachran,Piazon,Christensen,Kalas, van Anholt,Masounda…the list goes on.I ain’t holding my breath when we’ll have a ‘fifth wheel’ that isn’t just a space saver spare that can replace one of the regular wheels with and it stays on because it’s just as efficient!.These young players get so peed off overcoming obstacles put in front of them only for the club to move the goalposts and the players get exasperated going round and round not appearing to be making any headway. No suprise when these players ask for a move away.I think we’re going to lose Chalobah next, watch this space!
