Yes. It was always if chelsea wanted a player we would get him. How times have changed. Guess we will have to get used to it. I honestly think hazard will be the last superstar here for a while. Once he leaves next summer we have nothing special
July 10, 2017 at 10:54 am #1502942as far as I can remember reading that Roman was funding the new stadium out of his other business finances as that is allowed when it comes to new stadiums. Anyway the cost of that has nothing to do with any other club transactions, it a complete separate issue and as long as Roman will be with the club which I imagine is for life.
July 10, 2017 at 11:08 am #1502950Very true notnice, the cost of building a stadium is irrelevant to FFP
July 10, 2017 at 11:38 am #1502960Roman is a business man. Funding the stadium can still come from within the club with Roman supplementing if need be. We regards to Super star I think its high time we get use to the current status quo, Chelsea are not going to ever over spend again. We don’t have mangers that stay for long and if you have any person to blame you better put the blame on Mourinho who happen to be the last Manager ever trusted by Chelsea with transfer that ended up messing things up with selling of Lukaku,De Bruyne, Salah etc. Now the Club are reluctant trusting anyone anymore and will always do what they feels is right for its survival.
July 10, 2017 at 11:58 am #1502972RA is personally bank rolling the new stadium.
July 10, 2017 at 12:01 pm #1502975Let’s not get carried away with the Lukaku thing being a big disaster. Remember, for the last couple of months the press have been telling us that Conte didn’t want to sign Lukaku, and that it was a boardroom signing. Then as soon as he signs for united the press suddenly change their story to Conte DID want to sign him and the board didn’t! Sounds to me like the papers are trying to spin a good story so United/Jose come out on top.
They are at it again saying they are going to beat us to another target in James Rodriguez. Really? I don’t think he has ever been a serious Chelsea target. I’m as p*ssed off as the next fan with our current lack of transfer activity, but I’m not buying into this whole Lukaku fairytale. Who, as much as I rate, I am glad we are not spending the £100mil on him that United are.July 10, 2017 at 12:32 pm #1502985well its being widely reported that united have also stolen Bakayoko from under our noses, I am not too worried about Lukaku but I will be if we lose Bakayoko to them. Not sure what our club is trying but I suspect its cause they dont want other clubs to make huge money demands which is basically another lesser form of extortion but that does not seem to worry United but then again Jose was always a cheque book manager so its not surprising.
July 10, 2017 at 12:47 pm #1502997Aparently and this seems plausible… we have leaked that united are in from bakayoko rvem thought he has all but signed for us. So later we can go. United have been rejected for chelsea. Which imo is insane. Just get on with it
Bluelion. I honestly think we were always in for lukaku. United bid. We shit ourselfs and bid what we thought was the same. Until it came out they had bid more. The whole thing is embarrassing for the club. Everony knew lukaku wanted us
July 10, 2017 at 12:58 pm #1503005Costa to miss the start of pre season training by mutual consent. That’s him gone for certain now imo. Probably the right decision too.
July 10, 2017 at 1:19 pm #1503010phwepsi, firstly Everton didn’t want to sell Lukaku to Chelsea and secondly they were holding out for £100m,they were never going to sell him to sell Chelsea for less than the £90m they sold him to United for and the difference in valuations was one of the numerous problems in respect of Chelsea trying to sign Lukaku and that’s before we take into account the £12m Raiola wanted too which Chelsea also refused to pay.
If you think different that’s up to you, personally even at £50m I was very unsure about bringing Lukaku back but at a combined cost of £102m he’s a good miss imo especially if we sign Morata. Cheers 999
July 10, 2017 at 1:22 pm #1503012RDP, it’s Conte’s opinion that counts though mate not Butch Wilkins.
July 10, 2017 at 1:27 pm #1503015NI Blue, no worries mate. There’s definitely something going wrong somewhere with how we are currently progressing our transfers which needs sorting by Roman wherever and whoever is responsible. Losing Bakayoko to United would be very embarrassing.Cheers 999
July 10, 2017 at 1:45 pm #1503019Totally agree with 9 on the lukaku issue and glad we never ended up with him,way over valued even in today’s crazy market.
As for the Costa saga, how is there any winner in that one, if no new striker comes in and hazard missing the start of the season, anyone’s guess on how the season will start and with whom.July 10, 2017 at 1:54 pm #1503028Rumours that there is an issue with Bakayoko’s medical. Some sort of injury?
July 10, 2017 at 1:57 pm #1503032Can we for once and for all put to bed any more of this bullshit that selling Lukaku was a mistake.
As I have previously stated, every season since arriving in England he has courted controversy with the media.
He said he did not feel like part of the team when we won the champions league (all about me ….. brat!). He expected to be guaranteed a start at Chelsea (all about me …. brat). He should be playing champions league football whilst on loan at WBA (all about me …. brat) Repeated the CL claim when at Everton ( all about ….. ) The last two summer transfers going on about wanting a move and unfinished business…. this summer I know where I am going …. and then a complete change after being on holidays with Pogba .(Immature attention seeking brat)… and going to a manager he does not get on with …. whose priority it would appear this window was to scupper any of Chelsea’s targets as opposed to actually strengthening his own team.
Is it also not a bit strange that hot on the heels of signing Lukaku the rumours start that Ibra will get a new contract at United when his injury heals!!
Personally I am delighted United have signed him. He was grossly overpriced, he cannot defend so that will be the first public humiliation from Jose. He also has the pressure of the price tag he needs to live up to and will face competition from Rashford who I personally think is a much better talent!!
As for Bakayoko, don’t waste the money, go to Southampton and buy back Romeu, he knows the prem, he knows the club and was winner of their player of the season awards for 16/17 season!
July 10, 2017 at 2:43 pm #1503052Romeu? lol
He is slow and lethargic on the ball. Admittedly he is better technically than Bakayoko, he doesn’t have the speed, stamina or power to play in a 2 man midfield.
I assume you have never seen Bakayoko play?
July 10, 2017 at 2:57 pm #1503058Chalobah to the rescue chaps… he’s still not been sold.
July 10, 2017 at 3:56 pm #1503073Nah no way if it got to the end of the window and united werent involved. We would of got him around 75 million maybe less. Everton would of been desperate and lukaku would of pushed it. That was clearly our strategy all along. Crystal clear
July 10, 2017 at 4:53 pm #1503101Niblue…when Lukaku get’s to Old Trafford proper the honeymoon period will be over real quick!.Lukaku will realise he’s not the only striker at the club and if when selected he doesn’t play to Mourinho’s script he will quickly come to grief like he did when he was at Chelsea.Lukaku will have a rude awakening if he thinks he’ll be some Pri-Madonna and everything should revolve around him.Let’s get it straight,Lukaku is only there because Man.Utd and Real Madrid couldn’t agree a fee for Morata!.Lukaku can be outspoken and thinks the World owes him, should be interesting seeing him getting on his high horse and telling Jose what’s what
July 10, 2017 at 5:08 pm #1503110I wanted Lukaku at Chelsea and I didn’t mind £60-75m being spent but Im glad we missed out for the quoted £100m. Everton done one on Man U, in my opinion Lukaku isn’t even an upgrade on Ibrahimovic who was top class for them last season. I’m not sure who Everton think they are evaluating Lukaku at that price with no Champions League background
If was Chelsea id never speak or do business with them again. Nasty little club.
