I don’t get why people are so against Matic.

He is a good player, he’s not amazing but he isn’t terrible. He would be perfect for rotation. If we keep him along with adding Bakayoko then our options of CMs would be the best in the country.

So now Conte gets criticised for being a cheque book manager.
RDP, they will always be cheque book manager a Chelsea, Chelsea are a cheque book club, the club is about winning things, which we cannot gripe about if youth are deemed as only squad players, and not willing to hang about to do the hard yards.
And from what I seen last season Bakayoko is some way ahead of our homegrown contingent, which is pretty evident across the board.
Give Chalobah some credit he wanted first team football, he may see himself as getting a sniff at the WC squad next year.
Would question the fee though, along with Solanke we have given them away, yet Spurs get over 50mill for Walker

BP, I think it’s a fair criticism given the movement into and out of the club. We are by all accounts signing a player with an injury, Torres ring any bells?

I am disappointed the player didn’t want to give it a few more weeks but he’s looking ahead in a short career. As I say best of luck to him. But there just has to be a better way to get players into the first team.

We talk of players needing game time… Zouma another example, we know he has huge talent, but we sign another centre back pushing him down the pecking order. In rudiger, we’ve got a great little player, playing three at the back means you’ll need several defenders on the books… Stoke will profit or whoever he goes to despite ‘allegedly” it costing the 7 million.

Zouma is going out on loan.

RDP it is rich that you say our manager/s are cheque book managers when you only need to go back 13 years to see that is when “the cheque book manager” started.

We are Chelsea, we have the best owner in any sport and we are the champions of England!

RDP, Chelsea aren’t Southampton if we want to remain a top club we have to compete with the best and sign top players look who City are signing.

Bakayaro is a great signing and will dovetail with Kante when he’s fully recovered from the “minor” op on his knee.

    Cream slice? 🙂

Bp, the one year left on his contract determined the Chalobah and Liverpool offered £3m for Solanke who was out of contract which Chelsea turned down and that fee will be set by tribunal.

9’s, I’ll take the cream slice come the end of season. Time to see who out performs in the other league wise. Gutted he’s gone but interested to see how Bakayoko comes on as and when he signs for us. going to leave it there on this thread.

RDP we all want to see some of our youth products come through, especially as we won the youth CL and youth cups etc over the past few years.

My personal opinion is that the youth today are too spoilt and should be cleaning the first team players boots, instead of spending their £5k a week wages.

I seriously dont think there is a plan to our window. It makes no sense selling players before buying. Weve let so many players go and so far we have akes replacement in rudiger

Any coincidence the club give Costa the extra week off and the Chinese transfer window closing this weekend I believe, could be something going on.
So of the three signings this far, not one of them is going to start the season, back up keeper, one extended still away due the conf cup, and one injured, not looking good people.
Gonna be a mad end of August for Chelsea again, as Pepsi says, doubt there is any kind of planning, pretty much seems make it up as you go along.
Actually, two signings, Bakayoko still yet to sign !!!!

Stuilse…swap Matic for Arsenal’s Oxlaide Chamberlain?…wouldn’t that leave us light for midfield cover with Chalobah gone?.Bluepylon…I know the cream eventually rises to the top but Chalobah will need to play out of his skin regularly to help Watford finish mid-table or above to stand any chance of selection for the World Cup squad. If Watford turn out to be relegation fodder and EPL whipping boys he’ll have no chance,it could even harm his career!.I think this World Cup is too soon for him now he’s gone to Watford, his best bet is to get noticed and get a move top a EPL top six club then maybe an England squad place for European Championship might be in the offing.Chalobah was making steady progress here, pity he couldn’t see it!

So much negativity on here first we weren’t signing anyone now there’s no plan and none of the signings are starters.

De ja vu really I remember the same being said about Alonso and he was an integral part of our title win.

Chelsea clearly have a hit list with back up names behind their first choices and I’m pretty sure that both Bakayaro and Rudiger will be important players for Chelsea next season.

    Time will tell.

The Ox for Matic? I wouldn’t say no although with Juve also interested in Matic Chelsea might want to use Matic as a bargaining tool to get the Sandro deal possibly back on track.

Matic to United is a no no for me in the words of the great man I wouldn’t sell them a virus. 🙂

If I was Roman I would buy Siggurdson too and just leave him on the bench to stick it up to Everton too. 🙂
