Arsenal have supposedly signed a Bosnian left back Kloasinac, don’t think it will be too long til other deals start to come through. Should be interesting!
May 22, 2017 at 5:15 pm #1484754David Moyes has resigned. Not surprising.
May 24, 2017 at 8:53 am #1485487Real Madrid are signing a 16 year old Brazilian, Vicuinus, for just under 39 million. He has paid 22 minutes of senior football. Crazy figures. A brilliant footballer at 16 does not always turn out world class. Huge risk.
May 24, 2017 at 9:27 am #1485516£33m for Vinicius, Atletico paid big money at the time for a very young Sergio Aguero (£14m), Man Utd for Rooney, someone is going to pay €100m for Mbappe either this summer or next summer.
History is littered with examples of expensive teenagers, however when a club is willing to pay this much for a relatively untested teenager you have to think that there’s something special about him. Given that Barca, Man U and possibly PSG, Bayern and one or two others were all sniffing around too it implies that it’s probably not that much of a risk.
However, Odegaard was viewed as sure thing and he hasn’t really delivered since signing at the Bernabeu.
Alexis supposedly off to Bayern, no wonder Douglas Costa is being shipped out.May 24, 2017 at 9:35 am #1485524KB, it’s probably 50/50 if it works out. Rooney, Mbappe and Martial were all over 18, it’s a massive amount for a 16 year old. He is still a boy.
May 24, 2017 at 9:43 am #1485544I agree point break but, like I said, given the clubs who were also supposedly interested it doesn’t seem like a massive risk. I don’t know if I were a manager if I’d be happy with my club spending so much on a young player especially given he’ll still be playing at Flamengo next year, could blow out a cruciate, get fat and lazy, god knows what else. It’s a bigger risk from that point of view, I think talent-wise he’s probably got it.
May 25, 2017 at 3:47 pm #1486439Clichy and Navas have joined Zabaleta in leaving City. Clichy and Zabaleta could do a job but are not as good as they used to be
May 25, 2017 at 3:49 pm #1486440United linked with Dier.
May 25, 2017 at 5:25 pm #1486495Caballero has left City as well.
May 26, 2017 at 2:47 pm #1486868Bernardo Silva supposed to be signing for Man City today for around £72m. The madness begins….
May 26, 2017 at 3:13 pm #1486888More like £42m
May 26, 2017 at 3:24 pm #1486901The BBC are saying 43m, the Guardian are saying 60m and reports in France are saying around 72m. So, somewhere between 43m and 72m lol superb accuracy
May 26, 2017 at 3:44 pm #1486923I guess we’ll find out in the next few hours! City aren’t messing around this summer. 5 have left the club already, with another 3 still to go. I can imagine the bosses have a clear plan of who they want to improve the squad and will want to get business done early
May 26, 2017 at 3:48 pm #1486925It’s an impressive turn around Mark. Several defenders definitely needed!
May 26, 2017 at 4:21 pm #1486945We just need to sort Yaya out another year, get two full backs and a centre back in, and we can put out the deck chairs and start the summer holidays 🙂
May 26, 2017 at 4:35 pm #1486953And a Keeper?
This could be City’s biggest spend in the transfer market to date and they are rightly favourites for the PL.
I think it’s going to be a massive transfer window this summer from the top PL clubs with even Liverpool who have previously been considered fairly frugal spenders of late expected to spend circa £100m with other clubs in and around Liverpool in the PL likely to spend even more even maybe Arsenal.
May 26, 2017 at 5:04 pm #1486968@mark_ozzy. Brace yourself for a humdinger of a transfer season. I expect both Guardiola and Mourinho to make big, big moves out and in this summer while I also believe there will be some astute moves coming from Chelsea and Spurs.
In terms of big transfer out – we have De Gea, Lukaku, Sanchez, Ozil, Costa, Coutinho, and many other possibilities this season.
Griezmann, Bernardo Silva, Aubameyang, Mbappe, and Morata are just a few players that appear to be on the move as well so it’s going to be a period of high drama.
Expect fireworks. Gylfi Sigurdsson has already made a perfect move to Everton as well.
May 26, 2017 at 8:07 pm #1487215Expect both United and City to spend big. It’s going to take something special to unseat Chelsea next season. They are light years ahead of the rest and will only likely lose Costa in the summer who can be replaced
May 26, 2017 at 9:37 pm #1487239Spurs will get left behind this window, the figures Chelsea,United ,City,Liverpool and Arsenal will spend and pay on wages are so far ahead of us it’s laughable.
Added to the fact that the media is already trying unsettle our players with their “Spurs players could double their wages at other clubs” and “Come on Levy pay your players a proper wage”,total bollocks I know ,but footballers don’t often win Mastermind do they?
What I will say is this “The grass isn’t always greener on the other side”May 27, 2017 at 10:16 am #1487312If I had to choose in spending 50 mil for Keita or Van Dijk then I would choose the first!! There are not many players in the world with Keita’s abilities contrary to Van Dijk. There are players like him in the market with less money… Besides since Utd will spend 300 mil for new signings then it is easy for then to splash 60 mil for him….
