Joe allens price should be more then 10m after his performances in the euros. I’d keep him before Henderson. He has been excellent. He’s been very good for Liverpool since klopp came in aswell.
I think we will get 30m for benteke. I think he’s a very good player and will be a success at palace. They play with two out and out wingers.
Burnley want 20m for michael Keane from Leicester. Crazy. The money is just crazy. Bentibia from Munich has gone on loan to Juve.
Bartley is a very good signing for Leeds Johnny. Richie and Gayls two excellent signings for Newcastle aswell.
James Tompkins nearly done deal to palace
July 2, 2016 at 12:49 pm #1090359Dortmund have said that Utd will sign Mkhitaryan. They will announce further details shortly.
Probably one more player to be brought in by Utd and it could well be a great transfer window.
July 2, 2016 at 1:09 pm #1090401Sean,I’m with you. I’ve changed my opinion on Allen completely,I’d keep him,but I don’t think Klopp will. He wants to play every week, and I don’t think he will get that at Liverpool. We paid £15m for Allen, and there’s no doubt that he’s improved since he came to the club. If he is sold,we should be looking at £20-£25m. I think that’s a fair valuation.
Alfie,Mkhitaryan has just been announced. Another good signing for Jose. United are looking very strong. Martial,Rashford,Ibrahimovic,Mata,Mkhitaryan…. some great options up the top end for United, and that’s without even mentioning Rooney.
There are rumours in Liverpool that Everton are trying to sign Schneiderlin. He’ll certainly be an upgrade on the likes of Cleverley,Gibson etc for Everton, who also made a decent signing yesterday themselves, signing Stekelenburg from Fulham. The window is well up and running…..
July 2, 2016 at 1:50 pm #1090488ST-Liverpool linked with 2 Croatian players,Mateo Kovacic of Real Madrid, and Marko Pjaca
of Dinamo Zagreb.Very talented players.July 2, 2016 at 2:05 pm #1090524Red blood Yeah,we’ve been after Kovacic since last summer, but he went to Real Madrid instead. I believe we’ve already had a bid rejected for Pjaca, but obviously we may make an increased bid, especially if Palace meet our asking price for Benteke. Zielinski is another player we’re very interested in,i expect that one will happen, plus we’re looking for a LB too. Exciting times for both Liverpool and Manchester United at the moment
July 2, 2016 at 2:15 pm #1090539Alfie, great signing mate. Top class player.
Bailey is a very good centre half aswell.he was excellent against us in Spain.
Some very good signings by utd considering they got Jose aswell.
Who else do you think utd will bring in? Huge rumours pogba for 83m.
I think utd will hit the 150-200m mark and be a real force next season
July 2, 2016 at 2:19 pm #1090554St, sorry for being negative again but I don’t find this window exciting as a Liverpool fan. No idea about zielinski but yet again we are targeting young players and hoping klopp will develop them. Zielinksi can’t even get a game at his parent club. Isn’t he another number ten?
Anyway I’ve heard we have had a 12m bid rejected for him. It’s hard to get e tied when 85% of your signings over the last while have turned out to be pure piss on a window sill.
July 2, 2016 at 2:36 pm #109057885% of Klopp’s signings haven’t been piss poor, at any club he has been at.
Whilst United are making good signings Sean I can’t understand talking them up and then slating ours. Bailey is a good signing. I’m genuinely not sure about the other two, for different reasons.
I think at least that Matip and Mane will improve us, and improve our starting 11 too, not just the squad.
There will be two more signings for Liverpool, at least, and the targets are clear improvements on the starting 11. Plus he is clearing out alot of the shite. It’s progress. Not world beaters but progress.
July 2, 2016 at 2:52 pm #1090605Sean – I think we’ll bring in a midfielder, fingers crossed for Pogba but I think he’ll end up at Madrid.
I’d love Kroos, but I think they’ll be a Pogba for Kroos + cash deal going on.
Not sure who else is available tbh, but Mourinho seems to know what’s what and I trust him to get the best players available who want to come.
July 2, 2016 at 4:21 pm #1090674I’m with Beni. Sean,I’m seeing positive signs. We’ve signed a new keeper,a new CB (both badly needed),a winger/striker with phenomenal pace,we’re trying to get a CM and a LB,and all this without a transfer saga involving one of our star players. Yes,OK,these players aren’t ‘marquee signings’,but as Leicester proved last year, you don’t always need star names for a team to be a success on the pitch. I understand that these players don’t really excite,as they’re not well known, but we’ve signed ‘marquee’ players in the past (Balotelli,Lallana,Benteke etc) and those players haven’t been able to deliver. We’ve tried to sign the likes of Gotze, but weren’t able to because of no CL,so we have to shop in the 2nd tier for now. Yes,it’s frustrating, but we have to accept it for now. I’ve no doubt that Klopp will get us where we want to be,and will address the problem areas in the squad, and that’s good enough for me at the moment. Keep the faith mate
July 2, 2016 at 6:41 pm #1090746Wib, when I said 85% , I mean over the last few years. I can’t judge any of klopp signings yet.
I know I’ve really gone off on one recently so I’ll give it a rest with the negativity.
July 3, 2016 at 12:43 am #1090917No problem Sean. I understood your point about 85% but I just wanted to make the point that we should give Klopp a chance.
July 3, 2016 at 8:41 am #1090995Wib, utd have no cl football yet they are attracting players that are currently playing with a team in the cl.
Liverpool fans don’t like me saying this but utd is a bigger club but why can they still attract the top players without cl football and we can’t? Is it as simple as utd pay unbelievable wages and we can’t compete with that?
Or is it a number of reasons like, players see Liverpool as a mid table club and utd have a much better chance of trophies? Our highest paid player is sturridge on 150k. In fairness how can we compete with 300k a week wages.
Utd only won the pl 3 years ago.its 26 years for us. With the money utd have, it’s going to be very hard to compete with them in the coming years. I just find it crazy that utd could land pogba for 100m when they have no cl football to offer him. Word is he wants to work with Jose but I highly doubt Jose could attract these players if he was at Spurs/Liverpool with no cl football. Utd have more to offer and I dont think it’s just money.
July 3, 2016 at 9:00 am #1091013Does my head in watching United throw money about. You just know they’ll be competing for the title this season while FSG hold us back…again.
Liverpool fans have to be honest as well. United – even without CL football – are a much bigger attraction than us. Better recent history, more ambitious and pay much better wages.
Also, Liverpool’s signing aren’t exactly exciting me so far and when people say these are players Klopp sign, it’s widely known that Klopp didn’t sign players at Dortmund.
July 3, 2016 at 9:20 am #1091025Rs7,I agree. Utd are a much bigger attraction then us. Have been for decades.
It doesn’t do my head in though. Well used to being in utds shadow at this stage. I used to be obsessed by them , a very strict Abu but gave it up around 5 years ago.
I certainly can’t see Jose messing up like he did last season. I just see utd getting stronger with each player they add and him at the helm
July 3, 2016 at 1:19 pm #1091274Bigger wages and also their being out of the CL is viewed as s temporary thing.
Wages is the biggest factor though.
July 3, 2016 at 2:19 pm #1091331Krychowiak has joined PSG €26m deal.Quality player imo.
July 4, 2016 at 9:27 am #1092123Regardless of who utd sign, their season hangs on the behaviour of Mourinho. If he keeps himself out of trouble and motivates the players to his cause, they will be a force to be reckoned with. On the other hand, he may not be comfortable with the bigger and brighter spotlight at old trafford, he has always been bad at taking criticism, hence the spanish press don’t like him, as they were always criticising him. If results don’t go his way, it will be same here, and he could well implode. This is the risk they took when they signed him, and we will have to wait and see.
For me and Liverpool though, I am quietly confident we can have a much better season than last, and at least Klopp will have more of his identity in the squad going into the season. With no European distractions, a title challenge has to be the aim from the off, even if they we don’t say so. Leicester were only mean’t to blow the bloody doors off last year, but look what happened. Anything is possible in the prem these days, and after the dire euros, I can’t wait for it to be back.
July 4, 2016 at 11:17 am #1092357DH-You are spot on about the bloody Euros mate,in fact, because the quality of football
has been so dire, they should only be held every 8 years.July 5, 2016 at 7:58 am #1093542It looks like Man Utd have probably bought the league title. I feel sorry for the youngsters that proved themselves to be excellent prospects who will see their game time severely hindered. Obviously money does not guarantee success, and Mourinho’s recent behaviour must be taken into consideration, but if you can’t win the league with the calibre of player that being brought in and the astronomical amounts being spent, Football Manager-esque, then something is seriously wrong. The money in today’s game is obnoxious, not like any of us didn’t know this already.
