Swansea City stats and facts ahead of Saturday’s dinner time kick off.

Played the Swans 5 times at the Liberty Stadium in the Premiership, Won just 1, Drawn 2 and Lost 2 scoring 4 and conceding 6.

First encounter back in May of 2012 when Danny Graham (now at Blackburn) scored the only goal of the game late on to deservingly secure all three points. We were utter pants that day. Liverpool old boys Caulker (if you could call him that) and Allen both played against us that Sunday. Starting XI was: Doni, Johnson, Agger, Carra, Kelly, Rodriguez, Henderson, Downing, Shelvey, Suarez and Carroll.

Despite Swansea’s poor start to the new campaign they have some players that need to be watched. Llorente can still turn it on and Fer and Sigurdsson have been the ones involved in most of Swansea’s conversions. Fabianksi has also been good in goal, so despite their perilous position, they still have some very good players making this game a prime ‘banana skin’ candidate as we’ve seen so many times following a decent run. My prediction is 3-1 for us. Hooray for

Tough game rob. Play like we did sat and we will win no problem. Lack of clean sheets is a worry. The real worry for this season is injuries. Keep everyone fit and we can really push on. Same team as even though I’d like to see sturridge play but were does he fit in. Also lovren in for Klavan.

    Nice intro Rob 🙂

The one notable fact unlike the last 2 seasons is that our injuries have minismized quite considerably.

Rather than players dipping in and out and not knowing from one week to the next who they are playing along side, there is more stability.

Plus, certain individuals in Lallana and Firmino in form. It will be a competitive battle no doubt and Swansea will make us work, but I think this time round, we’ll have too much in our locker for them to cause as any damage.

I’m hoping Karius will be given another chance and the key for me is trying to keep a clean sheet and win by a 2 goal margin.

That would do me nicely going into the international break next month.

Doni lol, what a crap signing he was. I remember a match vs Blackburn,Reina was suspended,so Doni played (his debut i think),with Brad Jones the back up goalie. Doni was sent off for fouling Yakubu in the box,so Jones came on. Later on,Jones fouled Yakubu in the box, another penalty, and the ref booked him, thankfully. If he’d sent off Jones, all 3 of our first team goalkeepers would have been suspended at the same time.

As for Swansea,we have an awful record there,i think we will beat them comfortably on Saturday however. The KO time is not ideal,as the players will have to be up very early, but it is what it is,and we have to get on with it. 0-3 win (yes,we WILL keep a clean sheet!)

Very tough game on Saturday, the boys must not be complacent just because of our recent good results.

I would play the same team again (apart from Lovren instead of Klavan), although I have a sneaking feeling Sturridge might be more effective starting here.

Don’t get me wrong, I still think our usual front 3 (Coutinho, Firmino, Mane) is our most effective and consistent strikeforce at the moment, but Sturridge can offer something different and take our opponents by surprise, as he is fresh, hungry and raring to go

Rob, you brought back some memories with the 5,4,3,2,1. I think I ever tried that choccie once and then stuck with either Penguin or Breakaway with my packed lunches 🙂

Songman, that’s the absolute key for me and a nail on the head: complacency.

JK is getting better in the examples of Lallana and Firmino, but that comes with them putting in the extra application.

You have to adopt the right attitude too and maintain in not getting too ahead of yourself.

It’s a matter of hitting that reset button and bringing it all back together to overcome another challenge and another set of 90 minutes.

We already had a Swansea thread. I’m ignoring this fancy one with the KO time in the headline because I’m not a complete idiot.

Odd question given half of the stuff I say on here is said with a smirk.

But no, being pointless doesn’t make me smile.

    Rob’s comes with a narrative and an insight;

reminds me of the days of Ceefax and Teletext previews on a Friday afternoon coming home from school and college 🙂

Nothing against Rob and his opinions. I do wonder why he created this though.

I think a few people on other threads asked for rob to start bringing his stats out pre game….in his defence!

At risk of stating the obvious, I trust Klopps starting 11, will be our best available. Anyone dropped has to be considered not worthy of a starting place.

Nah, again I wasn’t aiming anything at Rob in particular. I know that this business is partially down to conversations involving Nil and that entire ensemble is just irritating and pointless.
