All the Teamtalk predictions show no one predicting relegation and us coming between 10th and 15th for next season which shows that either seasoned journalists have studied each team and concluded this is a fair reflection ….. or …… They could not be a****d to look in serious detail at the remaining 13 and just predicted the 2 of 3 promoted clubs will go down plus perm any team who finished 17th – 14th from last season. Discuss …..

I bet they wish that they could wait until the end of the month before making their predictions.

The fact is that ‘ inertia’ plays a big part in teams’ ultimate fate. Get off to a good start and you build confidence. On the other hand, you take one point from your first six games and you are behind the eight-ball, not just points-wise but psychologically you are f#**#d….the dressing room falls apart, the manager implodes and you end up in a twelve foot hole with a ten foot ladder.

Some top teams can fire their managers, spend money and salvage such a situation, but those with limited funds just spiral down the drain.

We’ll see what happens. And I can’t wait to read others’ comments about hoping my doomsday scenario happens sooner rather than later for TP!

We may well escape relegation if no-one gets injured or red carded but who wants to watch the sort of dross that was mostly played last year.
