Just read the story on the homepage, that he will snub us to go to City,as back up to Joe Hart. Why? The reason he’s unhappy at Barcelona is because he only plays in the cup games,so why would he go to Man City to do the same? If the story is true,he must have been given guarantees that he will be number 1,otherwise why not stay at Barca,or come to Liverpool, and play every week?

A rumour is a rumour, untill he actually pens down a contract for either Liverpool or Man City, Im not even gonna bother with these gossips.

He got faith in his abilities and wants to succeed at the highest level. Honestly Begovic might do the job for us, even that young goalie at AC Milan. There are plenty of options out there regarding the goalkeeper position and just like the club is doing he is looking at his options.

    Anyways its gossip…

There’s a lot of good goalkeepers who could be available this summer.

One of the most interesting is probably Keylor Navas, who could be on the move if Real sign De Gea.

Not really fussed about Ter Stegen to be honest. Decent keeper, but I think he’s over rated.

Lads,I agree it’s just speculation, but if there is any truth to it,and he goes to City to do the same thing as what he’s doing now,it just doesn’t make sense to me,that’s why I posted about it. Hopefully, we get him,but if not,I’m sure Klopp has alternatives in mind. Cheers

Jc, i agree. He cant command his box. Look at all the mistakes he made last year and he was only in the side for the cl and the cup games. Bravo is the keeper for the league and ter stegen us for the cups.

The amount of crosses Ter Stegen drops is crazy. We need a keeper who can command his box. Begovic is a good call. Mignolet just makes to many errors. The way he delays relasing the ball does my head in. He can produce some really top saves but he makes to many errors that lead to goals. He has to go but im not so sure that will happen considering we gave him a new contract. I dont buy the excuse that its to get a better price for him.

I think there will be a bit of a Goalkeeper Merry go Round this summer,Clubs looking at most of the top Keepers across Europe and One Rumour I’ve heard is that if Ter Stegen goes to City then Liverpool could make a bid for Joe Hart.

Ter stegen is still young and somewhat inexperienced. Like Mignolet I think the PL will be too much for him. Would’ve loved if we got Cech last summer but the dunderhead we had in charge didn’t see a problem. We could’ve put in a solid bid at least even if he would’ve chosen Arsenal anyway. We could’ve even tried for Begovic who knew he was going to sit on the bench at Chelsea. Personally I’d like Navas.. He really impressed me in the season leading up to the World Cup and hasn’t disappointed since. Then again knowing us we’ll bring in Aston Villa’s #2 to “provide competition” for Mignolet or someone of that ilk. Come to think of it.. That would be someone of Mignolet’s calibre.

Taxi Joe Hart would be a great signing, but if City let him go,CL teams will presumably want him,so unless we win the Europa,I’m not sure if he’d come. It would be some coup though,if we managed to pull it off

Keylor Navas is NOT realistic for us. If Real failed to get De Gea, they will keep Navas. If Man.United failed to keep De Gea, they probably will ask for Navas. De Gea & Keylor Navas will keep on being GKs of Real & Man.United, just don’t know who will play in EPL and who will play in La Liga next season.

Scouser,I agree with that post. De Gea and Navas will swap clubs. I’m sure Klopp has a shortlist of potential signings, and if Ter Stegen isn’t available,he will try for the next name on the list

As long there will be a new goalkeeper next season Im not to fuzzed about Ter Stegen anymore cause I think almost all premier league goalies where ever in Europe are better then Mignolet.

Tons of GKs in Bundesliga are superior to Mignolet and Klopp knows them inside out. However GKs who are in calibre of Cech, De Gea etc are not much or even not available.

Fahrmann is my first realistic choice GK but I doubt that he is in the calibre of Cech. A very interesting GK probably is Karius, he is playing like De Gea (if not better) in the games Vs Bayern and Dortmund but it was the only 2 games that I have watched him play, far from enough to judge a player.

Barcelona choose Ter Stregen from tons of Bundesliga GKs told us that this GK probably will not be too rubbish. He just failed to meet the tough requirement of Barcelona only. On the other hand, does it mean that Ter Stegen is NOT in the class like Cech etc? Does a GK who has been proven NOT in the class of Cech etc worth 30 M?

I’ve heard a lot about the young lad at AC Milan, can’t remember his name at the moment though haha. He’s 17 years old,and apparently is interesting Chelsea if Courtois does one next season. Anyone seen him play? To be 17,and have prices of £20-£30m spoken about, he must be a special talent

Donnarumma S/T,Been superb for AC Milan this season by all accounts,Not seen anything of Him myself but according to My Son He shows excellent decision making for someone so young.

Looks a very good prospect and no doubt future Italian Number One,Confident and Calm even in trickyish situations,Will no doubt cost a small fortune if He does leave Milan.

Yeah I agree Taxi. Whoever gets him has got a very promising talent. We may be interested, given his age,and sell on value. CL teams will probably want him too though

I think He could set the record fee for a Keeper and that would put us out of the running IMO.

Can you imagine how much criticism Mignolet would be getting if he left in the goal Ter Stegen let in to-night.
