The Title race has come into the final stretch with 2 teams going at it.
6 games to go 4 points the difference.
I have this feeling it’s going to come down to the Leicester v Sp*rs game on May 18th and Leicester repaying us for what we did for them last season.
It’s written in the stars.
April 17, 2017 at 7:37 pm #1465415Im hoping palace will grab a draw at their place. They are in terrific form atm and could cause them a problem. We have to beat southampton though. Anything other than a win and i think thatll be it for us
April 17, 2017 at 7:51 pm #1465437I am not hoping for any favour from Spurs. I fail to see Spurs dropping points. They are in really good form. And even though they have more away games than us, big oppositions will come to their home: Man Utd and Arsenal.
So for me, it’s down to us. If we can win 5 of our last 6 matchers: we’ll be champion. If not, we’ll not. Our form is worrying though.
I did not want to look forward into FA Cup last week as we were still focusing on Man Utd away, but not it’s done: we need to take this FA semi very seriously. If we can beat Spurs, it would surely dent their confidence and morale. It will be a tough match, I cannot see us beat them if we play with the same strategy as clearly Spurs gave us a lot of difficulty in our previous 2 matches in the league. They won one and we won one, but they dominated. Dembele and Wanyama are too much for Kante and Matic.
For me Conte must be bold to drop underperforming players. Yes this is the first time I say this. But they have already cost us precious points.
April 17, 2017 at 8:07 pm #1465449Aindro, have a look at bort’s analysis of Spurs last 7 games on the Semi Final thread 5 games at home and all the games were against primarily the lesser sides.
Palace, West Ham, Leicester and Hull all away and Arsenal and United at home don’t look like 6 games where Spurs will drop no points to me and I still think circa 86 points might win it but 5 wins for us out of the last 6 games would be great as it wouldn’t matter what Spurs did.
If Spurs win all of their remaining games it will match Chelsea’s achievement in winning 13 consecutive games in a season which hadn’t been done for 15 years how likely that it will be matched in the same season by Spurs not very imo.
Also there’s much more pressure in actually being in the title race with a few games to go than there is in being 10 points away picking off the lead.
April 17, 2017 at 8:40 pm #1465467Seriously guys no point in trying to predict any results or Spurs staying unbeaten
The biggest problem is as previouslay stated, every man and his dog wants Spurs to win it, and that could well be a factor in some games.
Look at manure yesterday, yes we weren’t great, but they were at it big time, will they do the same at WHL!!!!
They only game they will defo be up against it is the arse.
This could well go to the last game of the season, also to note they have also stole a march on goal difference, now that would be shit.April 17, 2017 at 9:03 pm #1465482For me fabregas has to start all games bar the everton one. Whats the point in playing matic for secuity reasons now. We need to win all 5 games.
Drop costa for willian. I have 0 confidence in michy eitherApril 17, 2017 at 9:27 pm #1465491phwepsi, it may work. Spurs played Son as their centre-forward when Kane was injured
April 18, 2017 at 8:15 am #1465577Seems to me that Spurs are in the form of their life and are playing unrestricted football. Om the other hand we appear to be feeling the pressure
The game at OT was probably the worst performance I have seen from us this season
I expect nothing from spurs but would like to think that they may drop points at Leicester – but really not sure. Therefore, the onus is totally on us and for me the Soton game is crucial. Anything but a win just increases the pressure
We have the experience in the squad (you would believe) and players who have been here before but for some reason we really appear to be unsure and creating little. We really need to pick ourselves up and for the top players to put in a performance. KTBFFH
April 18, 2017 at 8:18 am #1465578We will win all of our remaining games, whilst Spurs WILL drop Points here and there ( Man Utd/Leicester/Palace …….)
TERRY DESERVES TO LEAVE WITH NOTHING MORE THAT THE PL TITLE !!!!!!!
CAPTAIN,LEADER,LEGEND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 18, 2017 at 11:35 am #1465730It is of course nigh on impossible to call the remaining 6 games for Spurs and Chelsea either way.
Form wise Spurs currently appear to be in the ascendancy but as bort rightly pointed out yesterday Spurs previous 7 games were in the main v lesser opposition with 5 of them at home.
The run in on paper seems to considerably favour Chelsea and we have the 4 point advantage also even putting aside the favourable fixture list that Spurs have just completed which has seen them pick up 6 points on Chelsea there is a big difference from being a chaser chasing down what everybody thought was an uncatchable 10 points advantage and being a genuine title contender which Spurs are undoubtedly now albeit still 4 points behind and therefore a lot more pressure on Spurs now than previously imo.
April 19, 2017 at 9:09 am #1466156Winning the league is all about consistency and to date we are top for a reason
Must admit that our apparent “wobble” and the current form of our closest rivals is worrying but then again if you look at the games left to play then we should still be considered favourites
Not only do we have a 4 point lead but the fixtures are in our favour (on paper anyway)
This is the time when level heads and experience are required to carry us over the line. KTBFFH
April 19, 2017 at 10:11 am #1466195Latest SkyBet title odds:
Chelsea 1/7 on
Spurs 5/1 againstApril 19, 2017 at 10:59 am #1466238999 Really hope for once I can actually believe and trust Skybet
April 19, 2017 at 11:25 am #1466258999 – not a betting man myself but more than happy and willing to believe those odds. KTBFFH
April 19, 2017 at 12:19 pm #1466307We shot ourselves in the leg when we sent Loic Remy out on loan and took the risk with Batshuayi. at least Remy could have a contributed or the least could have provided Conte with another option on the bench with PL experience. who ever did that needs to be held accountable if we don’t win the league. because as much as Costa is misfiring right now. we don’t have an able deputy like last time when we won the league.
April 19, 2017 at 1:37 pm #1466357CFC 1905, I’m not a betting man either and sadly our good friend Jess is no longer with us who knew a thing or two about the betting market being an ex Bookmaker.
Jess used to say if I remember it correctly “you never see a poor Bookmaker” suggesting that they rarely get it wrong.
I’m sure we all wish that hopefully they’ve not got it wrong this time. 🙂
April 19, 2017 at 1:52 pm #1466363Wouldnt even bother looking at odds. If we draw against southAmpton with the everton game after that. The leauge is 50:50 The odds will be just about the same. Once the everton game is out the way i think then we’ll be able to get a real idea were the title will be going
April 19, 2017 at 2:25 pm #1466395phwepsi, that’s not true mate the odds change based on results before the game v United the SkyBet odds on who would win the title had Chelsea 1/25 on and Spurs were 7/1 against.
April 19, 2017 at 2:32 pm #1466401Hi 999 Where is Jess – I hope he is still alive and well?
April 19, 2017 at 2:39 pm #1466407not nice, I’ve discussed this with palmeab off site who was quite close to Jess unfortunately nobody know.Jess did make a very brief appearance on the new site I fear he might be ill or worse but I hope I’m wrong.
