I know JC, it’s crazy that people expect the President of the US and his Press Secretary to be competent.

Yes they expect him to be competent.
But nobody would expect someone who has constant media coverage to never mis-speak or make a gaffe.

    What idiot would expect that?

    He’s misspoke more than once.
He’s made a gaff more than once.
This is not a one off.

    Or 2, or 3, or 4……..

Guess you didn’t read the article I just posted ginger.

It’s a list of 10 gaffes from Obama, during his first two months in office, from Time magazine.
Just bringing some perspective to the conversation. People under constant media attention are going to make gaffes.

Spicers job it to relate the presidents thoughts and deeds to the media and world at large in a clear and coherent way.

Saying things like even Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons on his own people is, to use a phrase I’ve been hearing lately, “fake news”.

The guy isn’t up to the job. He is a clown. He couldn’t even get the correction/apology right.
Satirists rub their hands with glee every time he takes to the lectern because they know new material is about to flow. He’s a never ending font of new comedic gold.

@Johnny Utah – Fair enough, although dictionaries do vary on the definition. For me, a weapon is something designed for fighting rather than merely used that way. This is why we say something like … “he used his walking stick AS A weapon”. What is the purpose of the inclusion of “as a”? Anyhow its semantics and nitpicking in my view. Spicer’s intent was clear. Hitler never used gas as a weapon of war.

Mind you, I’m not too sure how important it is what weapon is used. The victims are killed just the same. America had no problem carpet bombing Vietnam or causing the death of a million Iraqis through sanctions.

PS – And where was the morality when US and UK were selling Saddam Anthrax.

You won’t get any arguments from me on that ginger, I thought from day 1 with the inauguration crowd stuff that Spicer was a poor press secretary.

But, he wasn’t trying to say there were no gas chambers. Let’s keep things in perspective.

Let’s add some factual perspective to all the hot air emitted by politicians and certain gasbags on here:
102 years ago German forces in World War I made the first chlorine gas attack, ushering in the modern age of chemical warfare. Since then the use of chemical weapons has been one of the most controversial ethical issues in warfare. The toxic chemicals that have been used as chemical weapons, or have been developed for use as chemical weapons, can be categorized as choking, blister, blood, or nerve agents. The most well known agents are choking agents—chlorine and phosgene; blister agents—mustard and lewisite; and blood agents—hydrogen cyanide, and nerve agents—sarin, tabun, VX.
During World War II, Japan was the only country to use chemical weapons on the battlefield. Adolf Hitler refrained from the use of chemical weapons in war, though not from the use of poison gases in concentration camps, likely because of fear of reprisals. During the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union both maintained enormous stockpiles of chemical weapons, amounting to tens of thousands of tons. The amount of chemical weapons held by these two countries was enough to destroy most of the human and animal life on Earth.
As of 2013, 78 percent, of the world’s declared stockpile of 71,196 metric tons of chemical agent have been verifiably destroyed. Iraq, the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, the Russian Federation, and the United States all have declared they have remaining stockpiles. Combined they must destroy 8½ million items, including munitions and containers containing in total, over 71,000 metric tons of extremely toxic chemical agents. By comparison, a tiny drop of a nerve agent, no larger than the head of a pin, can kill an adult human being within minutes after exposure!
Over 98 percent of the world’s population lives within territories where the Chemical Weapons Ban has become the law of the land. The two states that have signed the treaty but have not yet ratified it are Israel and Myanmar. The five states that have neither signed nor acceded to the Chemical Weapons Convention are Angola, Egypt, North Korea, South Sudan, and yes, you guessed it, Syria! What a gas!
Why beat around the bush and rely upon these lunatic intransigent politicians anymore? The wheels are coming off, it’s all hot air, and its time for action. Let’s drop the big one on all the crazy bastards and have done with it. End of!

I think its pretty daft point scoring on the basis of what boils down to semantics, but Spicer is clearly a buffoon that isn’t up to the job. He reminds me of the press secretary in VEEP. I looks like I am not the only one to think so

Johnny, I’m no fan of The Trukp
Regime however to call this holocuast denial is a stretch by any definition. This sort of think is pretty much what Donald wants, in that he can now use his “fake news” claims and deflect attention from the real issues with his administation.

Clearly Spicer is not particularly good at his job, unless he is there to create a non-story diverting the publics attention. Yes, our Donald could be the Jose of political mind games…

I think you are confusing idiocy with mind games. Easily done. The mainstream media in the US and the Anne Frank Center in New York are describing it as Holocaust Denial, and since he denied that Hitler used chemical weapons, that is exactly what it is.

I have to agree with the others mate i really dont see this as holocaust denial and just because others do and label ti as that doesnt make it so.

i would like to a see a question put to this bloke, do you deny the holocaust? if he says yes then carry on.

it was a dumb thing to say but again no one looks at context, Hitler never did use chemical weapons in warfare like Assad. It was just Gross stupidity and should be condemned as such but to twist to say he has come out and denied it is just wrong

poor choice for his role indeed but then what do you expect when a non politician some how gets voted in to power by a nation?!

Oh, and to claim this is what Trump wants is incorrect, his tactic of shouting fake news has left his approval ratings in free fall. The majority of Americans now think he is an embarrassment.
