Have a look!!
July 30, 2016 at 4:19 pm #1137798concernedfan-That
s why i said that United should go for Messi. If United can get £76m for Zlatan
s shirt,in ONE WEEK,imagine what United will get for Messi. Then Lewandovski,Bale, lol.July 31, 2016 at 2:41 pm #1138986hopefully 2night we get some breakthrough in regards to pogba.
July 31, 2016 at 3:07 pm #1139016Looking at the goal from Zlatan, the shirts will fly more out of the store and what would happen when Pogba finally signs for United. The 100M will be peanuts for a player who is only 23 and when another club wants Pogba after a few years, we’ll get easy the 100M back again!! Good times are coming, Big things will be happening like Zlatan in saying and he’s right.
July 31, 2016 at 10:37 pm #1139385I think its entirely possible that within the first 7 days of the release of Pogba’s shirt UTD could recoup the money paid to Juve. And there’s Wenger scratching his head wondering why anyone could pay £100 mill. for a player. It’s all about maximising business opportunities. RM have been doing this for 20 odd years; UTD have just started to realise the prospects; Arsenal have yet to jump on the bandwagon.
August 1, 2016 at 9:07 am #1139643hatters sorry for jumping in on this page. Its a bank hol over here and im working so just jumping through other teams page to see how they feel about transfers etc
you mnetion bale, ronaldo, saurez and neymar. The difference between them and pogba is they score hatful of goals. Utd are buying pogba for his potential. He is not world class at the momnet but he can sertainly become world class. He has everything in his locker to be a huge success at utd. The fee is going to be jumped on. Its ridiculous money for a player who is moving from a cl club to a team in the europa league. At the moment juve are a better side then utd. They are winning trophies and challenging fopr the cl.He is going to utd for one thing and thats money. His move makes no sense at all. He wants to work with jose which is fair enough but joses track frecord shows he will be probs gone in 3 years. Who knows though.
August 1, 2016 at 9:40 am #1139709@sean. You make a fair point about money being the driver of the deal but in the end Pogba can justify his move by saying the club is showing intent to win trophies. Ibrahimovic is a big deal in football and Mkhitaryan is not to be scoffed at either.
The buzzword among footballers these days is “project” and there’s one hell of a project going on in the red half of Manchester at the minute.
August 1, 2016 at 10:19 am #1139802All I’ll say is that Pogba is a fantastic player and has the potential to improve immensely. He is also a global marketing star for Addidas and hopefully United. Do we not remember that CR7’s shirt sales in the first season brought in over £100m?! Pogba and Zlatan will have enormous shirt sales. Don’t worry about the finances. We need the quality. And Pogba is quality. Reminds me of a more skillfull Yaya!
August 1, 2016 at 10:24 am #1139817Agreed imzino.
August 1, 2016 at 10:30 am #1139826imzino,i wouldnt be worried about the finances if i was a utd fan but clearly some utd fans are bothered by the money they are spending on pogba. Its the first thing that is brought up by all fans especcially because you let him go for 800k or whatever it was. Utd cannot accuse any other side of trying to buy leagues etc when they have spent nearly 500m since ferguson left. Its their own money which is fair enough. Its no challenege for jose or pep at city. Two of the best managers around who can throw money around like its confetti at a wedding. Pay absurd wages etc etc. Attract players from cl clubs to play in the europa league.
a challenege is spurs, liverpool, everton. Try and make them into serious title contenders. Jose wont make the same mistakes lvg did. A few tweaks here and there and utd will be right up there but its no challenege for jose.
August 1, 2016 at 10:35 am #1139844Sean – In my view we’ve had to catch up with Chelsea and City by spending stupid money. Otherwise they would have just moved away from us and created a top 2 league of their own and everyone else would be way behind. Luckily, like you’ve said, we’re a financial colossus and essentially the giant has been woken up. We accused City of buying the league because they did and they did it with someone elses money. Money not generated by them. They can’t even fill their stadium FFS! Now we’re spending stupid amounts of money because we have to keep up, simple as that.
August 1, 2016 at 10:53 am #1139871you only spend over 100m in the summer of 2011. You have spent nearly 500 m since ferguson left. You won the league 3 seasons ago. you have the british record for a goal keeper. The pl record for di maria. now you are going to break di marias record. Who knows it could be a world record and your not even in the champions league???Its absolutley crazy but money talks.
Utd have always spent money going back to the days or ince and pallister etc.It be good to see managers try and build teams without having to throw money around but thats not going to happen. I just dont think its a challenege for pep or jose.jose will be spending near enough to 150m again and city aswell. It will be an absolute disgrace if either dont win the league. Jose has the expierence and i tip him to pip city to the title. Two great managers and it wil lbe very interesting but id love to see either at spurs or everton and see if they can transfomr a club like that were they dont have ablank cheque book and cant offer ridciulous wages.
August 1, 2016 at 11:05 am #1139883I don’t think its a blank cheque book mate. We’ve bought 3 players so far and one of them was free. If he had a blank cheque book he’d probably get Messi and Bonucci as well! I see your point but, as you say, its moot. That’s why it was so amazing that Leicester won the league last year. But I don’t agree with you that its not a challenge for Jose or Pep, that’s wrong. This will be Pep’s biggest challenge I think.
August 1, 2016 at 11:29 am #1139958One more thing. IF we had kept Pogba, who is to say he would have developed into the player he is NOW? I agree totally that 100m is stupid money. But thats the game now, unfortunately. David Luiz went for how much? 50m. Higuain? a 29 year old top class striker? 75m. Lukaku is touted at almost 75m. Sterling?? Lets not go there, lol. For the talent that Pogba has and the statement that we need to make, 100m for Pogba, IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS, is not so bad. He’s only 23 guys. And he is the type of box to box player we have craved for since the days of Scholes and Keane!

August 1, 2016 at 11:37 am #1139979happyhurling, ye you make a valid point. I think it will be ahuge challenege for pep.
Jose knows the league so well, i think that gives him an advanatge over pep.its going to be very interesting though mate. Some top top managers now involved.
iminzo, i always thought the 1st 100m would be a stikre chum. money been touted around is crazy.
August 1, 2016 at 11:38 am #1139982no doubting utd have a very strong 11 now. best keeper around and baily is an excellent defender. Myktheren could be the signing of the summer
August 1, 2016 at 11:48 am #1140018Sean – when you’ve got precious little coming through the youth system and successive managers, including Ferguson, have wasted shitloads of money on average players, there comes a point when you’ve got to bite the bullet and spend big mate. But you’re quite right, United are no strangers to spending big – Ferdinand, Van Nistelrooy, Veron and Berbatov are just a few instances of United spending big money that other clubs just couldn’t have afforded back then.
