Not sure who was more tired, me getting up at 2.30am for the game or the players who were struggling towards the end of the game against Southampton. I note that Sam was disappointed at not getting a point but he fails to mention how hard we worked against Chelsea and how it took its toll on us especially in the last 20 minutes. We were outplayed and lucky not be down by more as Long missed 4 easy chances for them. Yes we had a few chances as well but we never really looked to be in the game apart from when we first scored. I would have thought it better to start with say Kelly, Delaney, Flamini and Sako then bring on Cabaye, Ward, Tonwsend, Puncheon towards the end for stability if needed for example. Yes I know we need to win but realistically we have Arsenal on Monday which is good opportunity to gain 3 points and we need to freshen up the team before the game as there are no real breaks in between. Then again what would I know it’s easy being an armchair critic.
