    Hi all..
Any thoughts about today’s game??In fairness Liverpool played very well and pressed us high up the field.Vorm had a very good game and made a fab save against Coutinho..We seem to be off the pace a bit and Liverpool opened us up too easy at times.Dembele is a huge loss to us.Does Kane need to sit on bench for a while?I like the work ethic of Jannsen. .hope he bags a goal soon.We were poor in creativity today…Eriksson goes out of games too much at times.Wanyama is doing a good job ..hope we add a few more before transfer window closes. We remain unbeaten so it’s positive. COYS!!!

There were plenty of 3-0 spurs win over here pre match with our dodgy defense but this is one stolen point. A goal disallowed for an offside that wasnt. A penalty denied when vatonghen goes wrestling and the ref clearly saw it..wtf? Anyway..after this dominant display..over time am sure klopp will iron out the inconsistency at the back.

Reds2riches…thank for the post.Pre game I said it would be a 2-2DRAW…Yes the offside was tight but it WAS offside..Could have been a few pens in game..You forget to mention that Manne should have been sent off ..Liverpool were better team for a long time but when we equalised I thought there was only going to be one winner..Spurs.

We should have had the game won by half time. Tottenham came into it more in the 2nd half, but created little of note till Rose scored. We kept Kane,Alli,Eriksen,Lamela etc pretty quiet. Ordinarily,it would have been a good point for us,but given how the game panned out,I view it as 2 dropped in all honesty. Possession may have been 50/50,but I’d say without doubt that Liverpool created the more clear cut chances, and Tottenham can thank Vorm for keeping them in the game. I thought our pressing was sensational

ST..”should have had game won by half time.”But the difference is Pool didn’t and with Spurs playing badly we still got a draw.

I’m not disagreeing with you. Liverpool bossed the game for the majority of it,and got punished for not killing the game off. Your manager called our performance ‘the perfect pressing performance’. He also says he wants a player like Mane in his side. Hilariously, people online have taken those quotes and assumed that he’s going to make a bid for him. The last time Tottenham beat Liverpool in the league,Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale scored, obviously both long gone, and Bale’s goal was actually the last you’d scored against us before Saturday (think it was when Rodgers was at Liverpool,I could be wrong). We’ve certainly done well against you recently, and that record continues. Chin up eh,at least it wasn’t 5-0 like a few years back ?

True Liverpool bossed it and should have won by 3/4 goals but you know the difference between a good team and a very good team is very simple. A good team can never kill a game off and a very good team even by playing amazingly poor always manages to get something out of the game.

Chin up though, you may actually come close to finishing above us for a change.

No doubt in my mind that Liverpool played the better football. Their work rate and pressing was really impressive and they looked dangerous whenever they attacked. Having said that, given the amount of sub par performances from so many of our key players, it’s encouraging that we managed a share of the spoils…not very “spursy” at all!
Hopefully over the coming games we will see a welcome return to something like last seasons form for Harry, Dele Alli and Eriksen. That coupled with the return to the starting line up for Dembele will hopefully kick start what has so far been a pretty unimpressive start to the season.
On a more positive note I thought Vorm had a stormer, Wanyama continues to impress and Alderweireld has carried on his great form from last season.
    Onward and Upwards guys.

Still early days, but glad to start with a little unbeaten run whilst not playing very well. With a bit of luck the lads will get back on form soon.

Lucksterk Fair comment,or you could look at it another way. Liverpool are still in a ‘transitional’ phase,Klopp is trimming the squad and getting the players that he wants. That process obviously hasn’t finished, and yet we played better than your team at the weekend,a team with a lot of very good players,a team who qualified for the CL last season,a team who nearly won the league in fact, not to mention we destroyed Arsenal, another top team with world class talent,in 20 minutes to win the first game of the season. So we’re not far away are we? Even in the Burnley game,we dominated it. We had 81% of the ball, and had 26 shots in that game. We’re not a bad side. We just need to find consistency. We have a top manager, and he’ll get us in the CL in time, and he’ll get us fighting for the title. Might not be this year, might not be next year, but he’ll get us there in time. How long did it take Pochettino to get rid of the players in your squad who were only there because of the wages (Paulinho,Sandro,Adebayor etc)? Your squad needed a lot doing to it back then,Liverpool’s squad only needs tinkering with, and we should be OK this season. I’ll be disappointed if we don’t finish above Tottenham, given we don’t have European football this season

ST, you guys certainly looked the part on Saturday. You must be delighted with what seems a pretty quick return to possible CL contention. Our respective Clubs have a somewhat similar recent history in our questionable appointments of managers and the loss to each of our teams of a world class player. Similarly we each seem to share the new ethos of high work rate and the closing down of the opposition ASAP. Might not be quite the “glory game” of our heydays, but Hell, beggars can’t be choosers eh?
As to finishing above us this season…well three games in might just be a bit too early for such a call, don’t you think.?
    Cheers mate.

Bloggy haha, maybe a bit early, that’s true. Let’s see where we both are when the 2nd half of the season starts. We will get a better idea then. I’m pretty sure we’re headed in the right direction. My worry is that areas of the team need strengthening, and haven’t been, and that could cost us down the line, but Klopp knows what he’s doing, even if he has made some questionable calls of late,he’s made them for a reason. I think most neutrals just see him as a mad man who keeps breaking his glasses ?. Us Reds know how good he is. He’s a better manager than people think.

As for similarities between the 2 clubs,I’d agree with that 100%. The style of play is very similar (probably why there have been a lot of draws between us in recent years),we both have young managers, and a lot of young players etc. We even seem to get linked with the same players (we tried to sign Sigurdsson,Alli, and Eriksen, yet they all signed for Tottenham instead. Oh well, their loss ?).

I reckon we’ll both make top 4,with Arsenal and United to drop out. I’d take that haha

ST, from a neutrals perspective I have to say that I like Klopp. He’s entertaining on the touch line and something of a breath of fresh air in the Prem. As to your suggestion of Arse finishing outside the top four, now you’re talking my language! No Arse in the CL? Is such a thing even possible? Would make an old man very happy!
I’ll hook up with you again after the Christmas period and we’ll review your bold “finish above you” claim…unless of course we’ve gone completely tits up, in which case I maybe quite hard to locate…
    All the best

Thought Liverpool were lucky to come away with a point in the end.

To miss that many chances to put the game to bed, against a team not playing well but grinding out results, is not the stuff of Champions.

It is exactly why they should have lost!
