A couple more supposedly done deals but not seen the confirmation from LUFC just yet…

“Leeds United look set to win the race for Samuel Saiz after prolonged talks with Huesca over a deal for the Spanish midfielder”

and a deal for Werder Bremen’s German goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald age 27 is looking nearing completion…

I know they are not done deals just yet but I was getting bored by the lack of football and thought I would wet a few peoples appetites 😉

    Any thoughts??

Excited about Wiedwald, looks like a good goalkeeper. There’s a few people looking at his stats with worry because he conceded 15 in 3 games but it’s how that league is. It’s a high scoring league that focuses on attacking more than defence and if a team concedes a lot of goals it’s normally a team problem not an individual so don’t sweat his stats, think about his experience.
It’s one of the biggest months we’ve had with Elland Road back in our possession and some great signings already in and even better ones circling the club. If Wiedwald and Saiz come in then I may dance in the streets next week

There is stuff going on just now enough to make your head spin! A couple of players signed up, Pontus Jansson’s signing due soon apparently plus a couple of others in the pipeline, also confirmed that Elland Road is now ours as well as some utterings about the future purchase and / or development of Thorpe Arch………. This could well see some of our kind with whet appetites and dancing in the streets since it has been a long time coming has this kind of stealthy, productive dealing and Leeds opening up the coffers.

Also, the fact that our Club is going about its business in a very quiet and low key way has led to so much of creative rubbish around players linked to us, fans reactions to wild gossip and ridiculous, uninformed speculation. Most of this I have taken with a large dose of salt and I have watched with interest the likely prospects heading our way.

In the meantime, I just hope that we are buying in quality as opposed to quantity and we have the wherewithal to pay for all this. At a rough guess, if the ground purchase has cost £17m, we are in the area of £20m expenditure and we are seeking to do more business. Perhaps there will be some deadwood leaving. Good on Andrea Radrizanni. He seems to have got things moving in the right direction.

I will make up my mind in October whether this is all good or not. Apologies in advance for being so boring 🙂

Very pleased with the Anita signing. Good solid player, with enormous experience, spanning the game at premiership, champions league and championship levels. I remember him being massive against us at Elland Road last term. Championship teams would have given an arm and a leg to have landed him.

The fact that he is come by on a free and, reportedly, not on an exorbitant wages is a welcome bonus. This, hopefully, will facilitate the funds to be invested in a quality centre back, amongst others, as the prospects of bringing Bartley back are receding rapidly. I’m also hoping that the exit door will open wider to usher out a few more of those deadwood players who are eating into the wage budget. I am alluding, here, to Diagoura (spelling?), Phillips, Bridcutt, Cooper, Bellusci.

The Rad is proving to be an astute business man who subscribes to the art of tactful discretion. The re-purchase of Elland Road and the signing of Anita has taken us all by surprise. There was never a sniff of it! Even the most snooping of journalists and their much vaunted network of grapevines were caught napping.

We look forward to more surprises.

The squad feels as if it is in a much better place than it was last season but the back line still looks paper thin.

The defence will look even more threadbare if Berardi and Pennington are missing for any length of time. Reinforcements needed.

The midfield looks very over full and at this point many are going to struggle for game time so it might be that players will be heading out of the club.

The attack remains light as well where apart from Chris Wood there is really nothing else the whispering about Wood will not go away. It seems to me that the club might listen to a bid in excess of £15m. Reinforcements needed.

Still work to be done I reckon.

    Keep the Faith. WAL
