One of the toughest if not the toughest of our remaining games especially as Mourinho will want to spike our title bid.

This game squeezed in between the two Anderlect games does us a bit of a favour especially as winning the EL currently looks United’s best chance of making the CL hopefully the tie is still in the balance after the first away leg.

A draw for us at OT wouldn’t be a disaster imo even though it would probably mean Spurs closing to within 5 points because after the United game we are left with 4 games at home and 2 games away whilst Spurs will face 4 games away with two at home v United and Arsenal.

Team wise I guess assuming no injuries it will come down to Matic or Fabregas and the question of a false 9 with Willian coming in place of Costa into a front three of Willian, Hazard and Pedro.

My guess is that assuming no injuries Conte will go with the same starting 11 v Bournemouth.

I would love to go with matic to beef up the midfield and try a false 9 with willian. Costa is adding nothing to this team that willian cant do with more. Hes not even holding the ball up lately.

I think we need to do everything to win this game. This is the cup final. If we win this the leauge will be ours imo. But, i cant see past a draw in all honesty

phwepsi: I think we still need Costa to ‘bully’ their defenders. I watched on TV Sunderland vs Man Utd and I was not impressed at all with their display.
We have to be careful of Zlatan though, he’s a natural goalscorer. Their first goal today came from nothing, but Zlatan turned and placed the ball in the corner of the goal. They had a lot of sloppy passes, Sunderland also almost scored in some occasions. And Sunderland played with 10 men.

I am not saying that we will win it, nothing is sure and every of our next matches is a final. But for me it is not impossible to win against Man Utd at Old Trafford. The key would be to ensure that Zlatan does not get any dangerous ball. Their key players would be Herrera if played or Mata, who can pass the ball. And probably Valencia as wing back (he did not play today)

I think if we can win or get a result at Old Trafford… Spurs might wilt under pressure.
A win there and it would be like winning the title up at old Trafford. I remember Big red nose’s sides when they were winning year on year. He’d always give us a whipping en route to lifting the trophy

Not sure that I follow the talk of a false no.9..? While many may question the input and lack of goals from Costa, Conte has publically stated that he is doing exactly what is asked of him so personally I would not expect to see a change

Assuming no injuries I fully expect the same starting 11 as we saw at Bournemouth

I think we just need to be solid and patient and a lot will depend on the result on Thursday. If they are safe then ManU could play a full 11 just because it is Chelsea, however, if their game is still in the balance in the Europa then it makes a lot of sense for them to rest players

IMO, they are still not playing well as a team and rely on individual brilliance (Zlatan…?) to make the difference. So long as we are on top of our game and that Hazard gets the protection he will need then I am quietly confident of walking away from OT with all 3 points. KTBFFH

United were impressive against us in the FA Cup, they had an element of control in the game, although didn’t really hurt us. It will be a game of patience i imagine.

I’d start with Cesc and Kante, Cesc dropping deeper and playing direct balls for Costa to chase and bully defenders (Rojo mainly).

Good to see Moses back (we have missed him).

yes unfortunately we have a very tough run in which somehow does not seem fair but it happens to all teams at times, a draw would be okay here too, I dont think United have lost for quite some time so a win would be a fantastic bonus. Spurs could drop points later next month when they have a couple of tougher games to deal with.

A tough run in, how is that because we play Manure and Everton away
Lets not forget we have the likes of Boro Watford sunderland and Southamton at home, could be a lot worse, Spurs after Saturday coming have a tough run in with three london derbies and also Manure to play.
The game that bothers me is the semi final agaisnt Spurs, we will need to be top of our game for that as they are flying.

The game v Man.U is extremely tough.Firstly Mourinho will be doing his utmost to deny us a win 3 times on the trot in a season.A cauldron of hate and a packed Old Trafford is Man.Utd’s twelth man is another factor that will be hard to overcome.United also have something to play for namely a Champs.Lge spot to which they are in touching distance for by their league placing but it’s tight with other teams vying for the last 2 remaining places. There’s also the Ibrahimovic factor to take into consideration,he relishes the big games and the Chelsea game with so much riding on it he’ll be salivating at the prospect!.Yes,we’re up against rock and a hard place to get something out of that game…a draw seems likely but I think we’ll be extremely fortunate to get the win especially if Costa still not firing on all cylinders.Definitely squeaky bum time!

I can see the gap closing this weekend with us away at United, and Sp*rs home to Bournemouth. Hopefully we can get at least a draw and keep the gap at five points at worst. It is worth noting that after this coming weekend we have four home games and two away games, whereas, Sp*rs have two home games (which happen to be United and Arsenal) and four away games. Therefore after this weekend I would say we clearly have the easier run in. If we keep working to my two point average per game (which we continually match or exceed), we will get to 89 points from where we are now, which is the same as Sp*rs will get if they win every game. Bearing all that in mind, it would really be a shocker if we don’t win it from here!

For 2 times in a row: Spurs will play before us and they are expected to win. Eventhough it’s not guaranteed, but I can see them getting 3 points at home against Bournemouth.
We’ll play Man Utd at Old Trafford knowing that the gap would already be reduced to 4 points, exactly like our last match.

Hope that the players can once again take the pressure. I really don’t see Utd special. They just have Zlatan and also probably Mkhitaryan who can score out of nothing. But we have to realize that Mourinho will do whatever he can to defeat us. They will be extra motivated against us, we need to be very prepared and careful.

I don’t want to think about Spurs (FA Cup semi) at the moment. We need to treat every match as a final

On paper and based on form, I would not expect Spurs to drop any points apart from possibly Leicester away, however, in their last 2 games they have struggled to make the initial breakthrough but when it does happen they the4n capitalise on it. I think we have to assume the worst case scenario that they will take maximum points

Personally I think 3 points is more than achievable for us this weekend at OT and think that the game at Everton poses the biggest threat to us dropping points

That being said the games at home and away at WBA will not be easy but these are exactly the type of games we simply need to get the points

As we all know, it is in our own hands and so far we have responded well and keep edging closer to that finishing line. I think in the end the fact that Conte is a proven winner and has done it previously will be the telling factor (as it was with Jose first and second time around) and that should not be underestimated. Essentially we need to win 2 of the 3 away games. West brom should be easy. Theyll have nothing to play for. I think its more likely we will win at united over everton aswel

What we need to do, is win our home games, like every self respecting title chasing side should do. If we do that, we then need to find three points from three away games, so win one, or draw them all, and that will make it mathematically impossible for Sp*rs to catch us. The chances are that that both them and us will drop other points along the way, but however it is achieved, you would have to say, from here, its very do-able as long as our home form is strong!

I don’t see any option than what Conte said, to win 5 of our remaining matches. Unless Spurs drop points, which seems to be unlikely. Not this weekend at least, I can only see them grabbing 3 points at home. And Kane returns moreover.

The aim for now I think is to try to get the full 3 points at OT. We should play normally. Utd aren’t special, just probably their motivation to defeat us, Mourinho personal vengeance and home support that would make them special. This season without Zlatan: they aren’t special. Zlatan is exceptional though.

It will be a tough match, especially if they target only a draw: to defend and then to counter us. We need to find a way there. Our last defeat was against this kind of opposition who defended and countered us. If Utd play that way, we have advantage as Zlatan is not quick. But Rashford and Lingard are

Spurs will drop points as sure as eggs are eggs
No way are they going to win all their remaining games, which I hope includes a certain game at Wembley.

agree with notnice. We can’t be overconfident. We can’t underestimate any of our opponents. Including Spurs even though we have no more match against them in the league.
They are on-fire at the moment. They may drop points, but they may not too. Let’s see. They don’t have UCL anymore, all they have is like us. League and FA Cup.
It won’t be funny if Spurs beat us in both fronts.
