Blacky – Wasn’t the same said about Pogba though?
February 16, 2017 at 9:23 am #1436095No not at all because it was well known that Pogba’s contract didn’t have that long left to run and his agent was continually telling the world how he was going to go for a world record fee soon, plus Pogba never said he was totally happy and no intention of moving on as Veratti has done.Completely different scenario, simple as that.
February 16, 2017 at 9:28 am #1436098Verratti is indeed top class and would be a brilliant signing and will be veritually impossible to get, but then again I thought Pogba would never ever re-sign for us last year yet it happened.
Money talks very loudly nowadays and we seem to have the capital to get any player (bar Messi).
February 16, 2017 at 9:34 am #1436106@Sympathy – So have PSG mate, that’s the difference between them and Juve who were happy to take the Pogba money to rebuild their team.
February 16, 2017 at 9:45 am #1436120It depends on what Verratti values most. Playing in a competitive league but not as nice a location or playing in a inferior league but living in Paris.
February 16, 2017 at 10:14 am #1436152Agree with Blacky, Verratti won’t be coming and if he did come to the PL his destination would probably be London. I have to say though, why’s no one talking about Rabiot? The guy was even better than Verratti on the night – he ran the show from start to finish. Only 21 and a lot less injury prone than Verratti. Trouble is, he’s probably a non starter too. Anyway, I’d have either or both. Just proved my point that games are won in midfield and ours isn’t good enough. The other question I found myself asking was how did Van Gaal manage to fuck up with Di Maria so badly?
February 16, 2017 at 12:26 pm #1436228van gaal was a f’ing dinosaur. if mourinho was in charge di maria would of gone nowhere!
February 16, 2017 at 2:33 pm #1436312@Sympathy-PSG,Barca,Real,Inter,AC Milan, all have the financial power to match anything United offer to players.Inter and AC Milan have now the money from China after being taken over.
February 16, 2017 at 2:52 pm #1436324I think you all need to slow down abit boys if you watch La Liga you will have seen Barca ripped apart by Celta Vigo, Selvilla and Athletico Bilbao this season should we go and buy their midfielders as well.
Barca are not the Barca of last season or the years before the midfield needs to be rebuilt xavi retired iniesta and Busquets pass their best and the new defenders Roberto and Utimi are not the standard of Alves and Masherano.
February 16, 2017 at 7:46 pm #1436453‘…if he did come to the PL his destination would probably be London.’
I cannot recall in the past any player who chooses London over UTD simply because London is a more ‘attractive’ place to live.
So that puts paid to that theory.February 16, 2017 at 7:57 pm #1436463Er, we were debating PSG’s midfielders Ika, not Barca’s. A blind man could see Barca were finished when they got hammered at Citeh. In fact, I said they needed a complete rebuild at the time.
February 18, 2017 at 1:39 pm #1437116Verratti will come to Man Utd. No matter what. The perfect replacement for Carrick.
We will need him for Champions League football next season.
Pogba will talk to Antoine. 2 world class signings in the summer.
Arsene will probably sign a player from Club America or Yukong Elephants.February 20, 2017 at 9:50 am #1437750Would love Veratti at Chelsea. Don’t think he will leave PSG though. Kante and Veratti in midfield would be immense!
February 20, 2017 at 10:22 am #1437765IF Verratti goes to Chelsea then they’ve got a base to win the league for the next half a decade in him, Kante, Luiz and hazard. Doesn’t matter who else plays, have those 4 players surrounded by decent players and you’re still going to challenge.
Let’s hope he joins United then 😉
February 20, 2017 at 10:58 am #1437777I don’t think we’ve a prayer of signing him, especially if we aren’t in The Champions League, but wouldn’t it be quite the thing if our scouts could pull either their fingers out of their hoops or a rabbit out of the hat and find our own Veratti?
I think what will happen is Veratti will go to Madrid or Barcelona and we’ll buy Tonroos three years too late.

Neither of these two clubs have a history of spending big transfer fees on players who are not forwards.
RM and Barca only spend transfer money on strikers and only pay them huge salaries.
If these clubs wanted to buy a MF of quality why didn’t they go for Pogba last summer?
Reason is because £89 mill. was beyond them as was the salary involved.
Last year Barca bought Andre Gomes for £40 mill. when the needed Pogba.
Neither club are prepared to commit those sorts of funds to a non-striker.
And as a fee for Verratti is concerned it would be in the order of £89 mill. UTD would pay that, RM and Barca wouldn’t.February 21, 2017 at 3:12 pm #1438378Verratti or Kroos,if we could chose!!!!.
March 9, 2017 at 7:45 am #1447747Really? Yes paris and all of there players were shit, but isnt verr there best player? He looked like a lost boy! Hes team needed him and it was an appaling display from the so called amazing midfielder true greatness comes when you do it in a big game away from home..ala keane 1999 turin/gerrard 2005,wouldnt touch this guy!
March 9, 2017 at 8:14 am #1447764lol funny guy, the same guy who started this thread saying Verrati is World class is now bashing him after one game, lol you can’t just please people
March 9, 2017 at 8:49 am #1447793True Verratti’s performance last night was a long way off what he did in Paris.
But there is a silver lining – after last night’s game perhaps Barca may no longer be interested in him.
But MV has now realised that he won’t win a CL winners medal with PSG. So he’ll be looking else where. UTD might come into focus for him.
So in view of recent speculation it might come down to MV or Toni Kroos. MV is more of a MF general than TK, good player that TK is.
I was disappointed with Rabiot last night. His game in Paris was the best DMF play I’ve seen all season, but last night he reverted to form. -
