ok,i’m sure none of us are over confident with anything
wenger says about transfers because we know he dithers
at times.he did say today that if the right player becomes
available, then he will look to add quality to the squad.
do find that he contradict’s himself by saying it’s harder
to sign players in the jan transfer window than the summer
and does bugger all in the latter.i think he’s got no
choice but to buy a player or two because coq is out for
3 long months.if we have to pay 5/10m more than in the
summer, then we must do it.if we want to win the title then
we must look to add quality to the squad given our injury
record.i think we have blown two opportunities to go top
of the table and see no signs as yet that things are
turning for the better,or a sign that there’s better
things to come.wenger might have another “get out of jail
card”,he must surely use it this time or i can see a lot
more fans turning against him come the business end of the
season.it’s simple for me.if wenger really wants it that
much, then he will do it won’t he?

Last line sums it up perfectly mate – if Wenger really wants to buy, he will.

What concerns me is that he said a month or two ago that it would all depend on injuries. What kind of thinking is that???

As you say, you’d think he’ll buy cover for Coq, but will he? If Flamini has a good few games between now and then, I wouldn’t be remotely surprised if Wenger doesn’t bother.

But what really baffles me is Wenger’s line that if our injury situation is good in Jan, then he doesn’t need to buy. Leaving aside Coq’s injury for a sec, is he seriously suggesting that no injury crisis in Jan means it will stay like that until the summer? Because I know that he doesn’t believe that, so does he think he’s going to suck the rest of us in?

” if the right player becomes available” gives Wenger an easy out but in fairness trying to do the right business in January is very difficult.

just more expensive but if you can nick a player in Jan and have a good second half of season and nt have to compete with loads of other clubs for him the next summer then its actually value to pay more for the right player i Jan
