Let’s not use the penalty incident to deflect attention from yet another absolutely gutless performance.Bear in mind we were playing against a team bottom of the league, literally. We gave them over 10 shots at goal.We hardly tested them, lacazette and iwobi half chances were the closest we got. There seems to be a real fault in tactics and formation. We just don’t seem to be able to break teams down. It’s stupid sideways passing until we enter the final third and then we can’t even penetrate them. There’s hardly one player inside the box. This really is the worst Arsneal football I’ve ever seen.I mean we are talking about west brom here!!!
To start with, chambers is a poor defender who’s mostly nervous and like holding should not be near the first team.Enough of this idiotic trust in youngsters.Bellerin and kolasinac are useless.I’m not saying they don’t get involved in play but they’re so so ineffective they can’t run at defenders being at Arsenal has made them do sideways passing that’s it.Xhaka and wilshere in the centre is as bad as it gets because we’re left so exposed on the counter.Lacazette hasn’t scored in such a long time, not good enough.I didn’t understand the substitutions as well!!
Mailand niles, yet another player ruined by wenger. And the worst substituion has to be brining on mert for koscielny when it’s towards the end of the match and we desperately needed a win.He did this against watford as well, and we conceded in both the games eventually.
Wenger, you’re the biggest egiostic maniac who has used his achievements of first decade to prolong your useless career at the cost of Arsenal. He’s the type of man who even though deep inside knew that he’s taken the club as far as he can only decided to extend his contract because he wanted to beak the longest serving manager record. He thinks he’s so much above the club it really is unbeleivable. And this is probably his worst season ever with arguably one of the best squads at disposal.January 1, 2018 at 9:58 am #1576873
have to say that was a disgraceful performance.i’ve been saying
for a while now how the prem lge and it’s standards have gone
backwards and thats one of the worst games i’ve ever seen.
yes,the penalty was a disgraceful decision by a ref that hardly
gives us anything.it’s supposed to be hand to ball not the other
way around.and the saying goes the bottom clubs don’t get the big
we missed both rambo and ozil yesterday.no one makes runs from
midfield and no player has the passing ability of ozil.this is
what our team will be in the future, dull and boring to watch.have
to say a player i’ve gone off is iwobi.he offers us absolutely
nothing in attack and while some might say he’s young, thats no
excuse for 1 goal in 19,no assists and player who can’t defend let
alone string one or two passes together.
it seemed to me the whole team were not up for that game and thats
a disgrace in my eyes.no desire or commitment to win the game.we
could have still been playing and now and wouldn’t have scored from
open play.happy new year everyone.it’s going to get worse not better
being a gooner this calendar year.STAN & THE BOARD MUST GO.NEW
MANAGER NEEDED.January 1, 2018 at 10:34 am #1576883
Not sure how Dean is still a PL referee but we didn’t deserve anything more than a draw and my biggest gripe with the ref is that he gave Wenger another excuse to hide behind.January 1, 2018 at 10:49 am #1576889
Agreed Al. Every time we play badly, lose quick goals or gave a good five minutes, he gets out of jail. He has no nous, no tactical flexibility, no idea of formations or correct substitutions and does not deserve £90k a year, let alone £9m. But what can we do? Against United, we let two goals in the first 10 minutes then attack for the rest of the game (no other option!) and he cites the great goalkeeping. That’s irrelevant, why give away two sloppy goals? Against the Scousers, we should have been 4-0 down at half-time, then we have a spell with three goals and he talks up our “spirit” and even astonishingly, says we defended well. Yesterday, the play befitted an average, mid-table team, which frankly is what we will become soon if nothing is done. What do the supporters do? Look at me like I’m a crazed lunatic when I was at the match against United calling him to go! We get what we deserve if we put up with this…January 1, 2018 at 11:32 am #1576910
No one still thinking that we have the best squad in the PL and we are going to win it then because Arsene Knows Best. How many of you have changed and finally woken up to reality. Well its not before time. Ive been telling you for years what would happen and as time as moved on I have again been proved right. I said many years ago the longer Clouseau stayed the worse it would get, and it has. We are woeful, clueless, devoid of ideas and spirit. Lets look at our side man for man. Cech, past it, Bellerin, gone backwards and doesnt want to be at the club, Mustafi, doesnt want to be there and never worth £35m, Koscielny, past it and injury prone, Kolasinac, not good enough, cant defend slow on the turn, Xhaka, a complete waste of money £34m joke, Iwobi, being ruined has gone backwards, Sanchez, doesnt want to be there soon wont be, Jack, the only one trying, Lacazette, needs support and not worth £52m. Add Welbeck, Walcott, Monreal not good enough, Ramsey our best player this calendar year. So we have two player worth keeping and want to stay, thats about it. We are in big, big trouble.January 1, 2018 at 12:18 pm #1576937
I think the most astonishing thing is when your a manager and your on the touchline and your seeing your team giving a performance way below what they’re capable of,how can you just sit there scratching your head and not even get of your backseat when you’re being paid 9m a year. There were actually parts in the game where west brom were dominating and the better team and creating more chances than us.A team who’s scored the second least amount of goals this season.Wenger has really made the mentality of the club in such a way where he actually fears attacking mid table teams. He wants to sit back, and pounce on their mistakes if they actually make one.And I think a perfect example of being afraid of midtable teams in bringing on defender for defender on the 70th minute mark when we desperately need a win.It really is mind boggling what’s going on at the club.January 1, 2018 at 4:54 pm #1577155
Shifty- how about a New Year’s Resolution from you? Stop incessantly suggesting that you have been telling us that Wenger is hopeless and have now been proved right? Most of us have been aware of the old fraud’s severe shortcomings and limitations for several years but do not feel the need to constantly keep reminding others that we have been proved right. I have been anti-Wenger since I came on here in 2006, as I have indicated before and wanted him to go then, but take no credit for that as I think that was the start of his dementia ( chasing Baptista as a Vieira replacement). So, give it a rest- please?January 1, 2018 at 7:46 pm #1577323
Jog on Jeff, I shall continue what I have been doing for the past 12 years, I shall tell it like it is about Clouseau. If more people had woken up back then we wouldn’t be stuck with the loser. If you don’t like being reminded that Ive been right all along I couldn’t give a ****. This idiot isn’t going to leave by choice he has to be sacked and apathetic couldn’t care less pretend fans have kept him in his well paid job. He’s a loser who is ruining the club and he must be forced out because the way this club is going we are going to be a mid-table side for years to come. Clowns claiming we have the best squad in the PL and we are going to win the PL are the route cause of our current problems. Your opinion means absolutely nothing to me so tough.January 2, 2018 at 1:34 pm #1577630
Your usual well -considered response, Shifty, no change there then! Do you actually believe that anyone considers your posts worthy or insightful, let alone accurate, sorry Nostradamus.January 2, 2018 at 4:00 pm #1577721
Jeff, I dont care. I outed Wenger 12 years ago and all I received was abuse from the apologists. It was like water off a ducks back, I knew I was right because I understand the hame. I just laughed at their stupidity and lack of knowledge and kept telling the truth. Any decent posters will hold their hands up and accept I was right, you used to be a sensible poster but like the others you lost the plot. Show some humility and say sorry ShiftyBoy you were right, I might have some respect fro you then.January 2, 2018 at 4:26 pm #1577736
It does not really matter who was first or who said what years ago. I can understand it not being fun getting stick for being early about it. However even if all fans years ago had united against Wenger it would not have mattered and it wont matter now if we do now either. Why well simple as long money pours in, CL achieved or an FA cup is managed he stays because the board and Kroenke say so.
So who said what and when wont make a differerence and never will. Wenger stays as long as he wants.January 2, 2018 at 4:36 pm #1577751
muffler, the only people that can get Wenger out are the fans. It happened with Billy Wright, it happened with Terry Neil and the only way to get Wenger out is for fans to vote with their feet. On 5th May 1966 only 4,554 turned up to watch Arsenal v Leeds, Leeds won
3-0 and Billy Wright had to go. Its the only language the BofD understand. Clowns claiming AKB and that we will win the PL, even this season are the problem. They have to be told and I will keep on telling them until the penny drops. The longer Wenger stays the worse it will get.January 2, 2018 at 5:47 pm #1577786
Shifters, you’re contradicting yourself again mate – either you don’t care what people think or you do – can’t have it both ways.
Between the multiple accounts, the fake season ticket and the fake shares, even you must realise that you have no credibility but for someone who claims he doesn’t care what people think, you spend a helluva lot of time trying to convince us of your predictive powers when, in truth, you just love to whinge.January 2, 2018 at 6:10 pm #1577794
PS Do you honestly believe that there is one Gooner who has changed their mind because of you? If you really want to make an impact, organise an anti-Wenger protest – at least that way, you’ll actually know where it will start and finish 😉January 2, 2018 at 6:54 pm #1577816
AlTheGooner, once again you dont read so well. Where did I contradict myself? I dont care but it doesnt stop me attempting the educate the uninitiated such as yourself. You seem to forget I can remember when you were an apologist and wouldn’t have a word said against Wenger, worshiping his every utterance. Then when the tide turned on here you woke up one day and claimed to be anti-Wenger and always had been. Unfortunately there are some on here who can remember those days. As for season tickets, I had one long before you and I have a far greater knowledge of the workings of the club than you ever will. As usual you’re playing catch up but you never quite make itJanuary 2, 2018 at 7:02 pm #1577820
I have no issue crediting posters that get their predictions right, espescially if it was made against the opinion of many…but in wenger’s case that’s simply not true.I think atleast 80% of fans knew that wenger was way past his sell by date five or six years ago even.Since then, his popularity has only been going down.Today,I cannot find even one person who thinks wenger is good enough for the club still.Yes,there are many arguments elsewhere but not one backing wenger.
Shifters,I’m with muffler. You really think fans could force wenger out.No amount of protest would force him out…the guy is a dictator beyond anyone’s imagination.Him knowing that fans want him out will only encourage him more to be at the club to prove those wrong. For goodness sake, fans paid to fly out a plane with a “wenger out” banner last season, all this for a manager who has technically been the most successful manager in the club’s history.
It really is sad, because usually I would pay tribute to any man that has achieved the record of being the lonest serving manager in the league. But not wenger, because he’s egoistic selfish maniac who thought mediocrity was good enough for so long now.People will remember him for the wrong reasons. He could easily have left the club in the summer after winning a record number of FA cups and his legacy would reamin intact but he decided he wants to drive his legacy to the ground,All because he wanted to break a personal record.January 2, 2018 at 7:11 pm #1577822
TSO, if fans (real ones & pretend fans) stop going and crowds diminish as they did in the 1960’s as I quoted and he’s history. Its always been the way at Arsenal as any long standing fans know. To suggest that fans knew 5 or 6 years ago is not true. I knew and others but the majority on here were still AKB. Come on as I keep reminding you its only this last 12 months we have had several claiming we are going to win the PL, and we have the best squad in the country. Those are the fools that have kept Wenger in a job. This BofD will only react if income plummets and thats wont happen until the apologists wake up.January 3, 2018 at 6:08 am #1577925
Shifters – I’m not saying he fans are powerless, the fans make up the club and without them the club is nothing.Yes,massive consistent protests would affect the club after a point of time, but the only fools that have kept wenger in the job are the BoD.This is the worst board I’ve ever seen, that set the ambition and target of the club so low literally every manager in the world could get away with it.I mean honestly how the hell else do you explain them offering wenger a contract extension when we were playing shit last season and didn’t even win the FA cup by then.Truth is this board dosen’t think that this club is capable of more, and fears that changing manager would take us further down and then it will be their arses on the line if it already shouldn’t be.
You need to come out of this dreamland that a change in manager would make us start winning major trophies again. We will never win a major trophy as long as this board is in charge. We only want a chance in manager because we want to see something different, not because we think the next manager is going to do wonders.I’m not saying winning trophies will be impossible, but we will need a change in board a seriously good manager and a some luck of course.January 3, 2018 at 7:25 am #1577936
Yes fans have managed in the past but this aint the past and now we have a board that clearly has shown content against fans Sir Chips for one. They just dont care regardless of what we do. Even if we all voted with our feet they would still get their money which is the only thing they want.January 3, 2018 at 9:10 am #1577974

Oracle, fans not attending wont change a thing at Arsenal, it might have 15, 20 or 30 years ago. Now though not a chance. The waiting list for season tickets alone is enough reason for the board not to care. TSO for a change makes a good point, The money will keep coming in, regardless of current season ticket holders not renewing as there will be some guy who has waited 5+ years to get one that wont wont to miss up that opportunity.
The only way fans could make any real difference would be to mass protest throughout the whole game, im not talking 1 or 2 thousand but a group over 40 thousand strong at every home game from now until end of season, i cannot see any other way that the board might actually listen. Even with this though i dont think they would care.
I still dont hold board mostly responsible as at end of day they give what any manager would want to succeed. Space, time, and money. It doesnt matter if their demands are top 4 the managers demands should always be to win the league and if he has time, money and space from the BofD then there really is no excuses, he just simply isnt a good enough manager anymore.
