TSO, to be fair, the only major change back then was Dein – the rest of the board remained pretty much the same. In fact we’ve had more “success” in the 6 years that Kroenke’s been chairman than we did in the 6 years preceding that.
You’re right in as much as the board – the current one and the previous one – have shown a spectacular lack of ambition in failing to replace Wenger or, at the very least, give him a good kick up the arse but, that aside, they do what a board is meant to do – make money for the club and provide the facilities for the manager to do his job.
It’s anyone’s guess whether they’ll get the next managerial appointment right or not and, if they do, there’s a good chance it will be by pure luck but any new manager will have all the tools required to succeed and, if he does, we’ll all quickly forget about the board.
