Tomorrow lunchtime Clouseau will take his team of bottlers to The Hawthorns in what is a must win game for Arsenal. He will be up against Pullis, one of his Nemesis’s and an unsavoury character. There is nothing Pullis likes more than kicking lumps out of Wenger, and his team (literally) whenever he gets the chance. Wenger claims Arsenal’s confidence is back after the win against Lincoln so we have nothing to worry about then do we. As usual Wenger’s team selection and the attitude of the players will be key. Go into this game in our usual dopey half-soaked way and it could be painful. We should have the beating of The Baggies but we will have to be up for the game. My fear is that he will pick Xhaka and ‘the snail’ will get sent off (worth a bet actually). I hope he finally drops the useless Ozil and goes with pace. The team I would like to see (but wont) is: Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi; Koscielny; Gibbs; Walcott; Coquelin; Oxlade-Chamberlain; Ramsey; Perez; Sanchez. We need the points badly.

Not complicated; 4-4-2 which is what we should be playing. Ox and Theo wide, Sanchez and Perez can move around where they like, keep the full backs from going to far forward, Coquelin holding and Ramsey playing where he should be. The hopeless Xhaka and the gutless Ozil nowhere near the team. Giroud on the bench.

I dont think Ramsey and Coq works. Id like to see the ox continue at CM. I don’t think Wenger will do this either but I would play a back three of Kos, Must and Gabriel. Gibbs and Bellerin wing back. I’d play Ramsey, Xhaka and the Ox as a midfield three with Welbeck and Sanchez up front. Whatever Ox should play CM

Im not a fan of ‘stats’ as they can be misguuided at times, but Ozil has out run and out passed Sanchez this season. Sanchez has actually given the ball away more than other player in teh team this season. Yet we all laud Sanchez for his work rate and he hasnt covered as much as Ozil has in teh games they have played. I found that remarkable considering we all get on Ozil’s back for his lack of work rate.

Anyway agree with Oracle, this is deffo a game for Xhaka to sit out. It is the type of game where they will target him and try their hardest to get him sent off and probably will.
Still keen to see us play a 3-5-2 so i would go with
Cech, Holding, Mustafi and Kos, Bellerin, Gibbs, Rambo, Coq, Ozil, Sanchez and Giroud up top.

It won’t happen but Wenger does need to change our formation – the current one clearly ain’t working and hasn’t for a long time. You could even argue that it never has!

Hulk, only explanation I can think of re:Ozil/Sanchez stats is that more play goes through Oz, so whether he wants it or not, he’s going to get the ball and then he has to do something with it.

As for my line-up, I’m beyond caring. Only thing I don’t want to see is Ollie starting. Always happy to see him on the bench as an option, but every time he’s started a game this season, we’ve looked even more toothless than usual.

I’m with Al on this- I’m beyond caring any more, especially as the manager looks like he’ll stay if latest reports from the club are to be believed. What might be the excuse tomorrow- “early kick off; not had a midweek game so takes time to gel; still got a CL hangover; Ox and or Welbeck are injured; Theo very disappointed with England dropping;very physical team; crowd very hostile; referee not being fair; take your pick. Who’s predicting a victory? More to the point, who thinks we’ll win our two games in hand to go above Liverpool?

hulk i like the sound of your squad and formation, except id maybe change rambo for ox….id def like to see sanchex or perez up front with giroud in a front 2, maybe even sanchez and perez thoughi think they may be to similar but having not seen them who knows, think giroud for his aerial threat and usefulness in defense and his link up play with a player like sanch or pirez could be good, still its all pipe dream…..

We cant defend well enough to play 3 at the back and playing Ozil is like playing with 10 men. The truth is we just don’t have the players do we. Plus whatever any of us suggests Wenger will do something totally different. Lose tomorrow and does anyone really think we can make the top4?

Whoever we play, I have zero confidence we can either win tomorrow, or anything of note in the future as we look to be stuck with Wenger for another two years. Our club is rotten at its core; where is the ambition?

Looks like Wenger is going to stay because the club won’t know what to do without him. That was the BofD’s biggest mistake, handing the club over to Wenger and trusting him to make all of the decisions. He betrayed that trust and cocked everything up and we are now worse off than when he joined us. We have a squad full of holes and weaknesses and several players who aren’t good enough. Cech, Ospina, Chambers, Holding, Gabriel, Mertesacker, Mustafi, Gibbs, Monreal, Coquelin, Xhaka, Ramsey (Im afraid to say), Cazorla (Great player but finished), Elneny, Ozil, Giroud, Walcott (sad to finally say it aint going to work now). I think whoever comes in and allowing for Wenger staying we are going to fall well behind the likes of Everton, Liverpool and Man Utd and we can forget Chelsea, City and Spurs. I always said it would come to this, it was inevitable and so predictable. It could turn out that Wenger has actually done more damage than good when he reign is assessed in years to come.
