We are just not good at making something of nothing. Playing badly and getting a late goal like we used to with Lamps doesn’t seem to be in our repetoir. It seems everything has to be perfect for us to perform and win. We cant win when we are not on it – or to be precise when Hazard is not on it, like today!
I doubt we will get anything in that will improve us in January given we were not prepared to do so in the summer.
We need to make sure we finish 3rd.
    Not convinced we can!

Courtois seems to scape criticism time and again, I don’t see what’s so special about him after all. he keeps letting in simple goals….. a world class keeper would have easily saved that goal today. besides, we don’t have leaders on the pitch. no one to yell/motivate others, when you compare the West Ham that played City and the one played today, then you can see the class in between Chelsea and City, we let W Ham grow in confidence that they could easily have scored more. against City, the entire 11 W Ham players were behind the ball and every time they got hold of the ball, they couldn’t keep it for a minute whereas against us they didn’t panic and control the game. I don’t see Cahil as a leader and he was at fault for the goal gain today, time to sort out things ( Sell Courtois to the highest bidder and bench Cahill for Rudy )

NOt sure the keeper is to blame for the goal. They just cut us open from the left side yet again. How we won the title with alonso and cahill is a miracle. Re watch the goal. Baka POWER WALKING after the player infront of him.
Im not sure where to go from here really. We havent really got an identity anymore. And i dont like the 352 against smaller teams as its just get the ball to hazard and hope him and morata can do something. Theres no one in the box. None of our midfidlers score goals including cesc. Its as simple as that. We play with 2 sitting midfielders in which one is useless then hoping cesc can pick out one of 2 people that can score. I personally think its all still a mess even when we win i dont feel comfortable. Like i say its just very disjointed. We have had 2 reallt good results and that united and atheltico away

That was bullshit… looks like we effectively sold one player for 5 million and spent 40 replacing him with someone who looks scared to be on a football pitch…

Bring in richarlison who was on our radar because Pedro just doesn’t do it for me.

And why are we losing agains sides in the bottom three. It’s embarrissing as arsenal will probably roll them over.

And please can we sign Antonio from West Ham? The guy ran us into the ground yesterday.

    Spot on RDP
They will probably not win again for god knows how many games, same as when we lost to palace.
Gonna be pretty much more of the same me thinks away on Tuesday night, Huddersfield are gonna be well up for it.
And I wish conte would stop moaning about fixture pile up and players being tired
Well known players will feed off all this negativity.
I’m not sure the type of player we urgently need in January is going to be available, unless we can get Sanchez, good player richarlison, Watford unlikely to let him go though.

Bp- I’d honestly be giving a run out to Kennedy and try moving alonso to Cahills slot.

Title is out the way now, time to cement top four and have a crack at the cups.

I totally agree with Zizi. when you look at the amount of points that De gea has saves for United this season. you would have to question Courtois. we can’t always question the defence and Bakayoko. Courtois has to take some responsibility. even Cech who is 35 has more saving percentage than Courtois. he was a better keeper when he first returned from the loan spell. i don’t know if the injury has hit his confidence or the Christophe Lollichon was superior to our current goalkeeping coach. or Courtois wants out. and sorry for my frustration. i may have gone a bit far, but its a relevant question.

Tbh I suspect Courtois will be disappointed he didn’t do a bit better with the Arnautuvic goal.

Reports in the papers today of some so called Chelsea fans on twitter calling for Conte’s head. The mind boggles!

I doubt if they are real Chelsea fans may be rival fans disguising themselves as Chelsea fans. i remember a few months ago goal.com was reporting that some Milan fans were disguising themselves as Chelsea fans and were calling for Conte head. i don’t think if any Chelsea fan would want Conte to be sacked. i’m not sure may be Wise-fan. but those that i know are happy with Conte.

Cant see conte being here next year anyway and im not so sure if one of hazard and coutious will be here also. Imagine how good hazard would be in that man city team with great players around him? His stats would be nearly double i would say. Hes stuck playing in a rigid formation with average players.
Alonso has been dreadful this season complete passenger as he has 0 competition for his place. Pedro and willian should be moved on. Both nearly 30 years old and take up a crutial spot int he team that another top player could play in.
I can also see luiz been sold next month. Somethint isnt right there. Again another underperformer who we could have someone like van dijk in his place.
We need to start weeding out the players that arnt good enough anymore

Well, my 3-0 prediction looks pretty sick now. Just a really poor team performance with only one really decent chance created, which Morata really should have scored with,or at least hit the target. Whilst watching West Ham against City last week, I wa struck as the game progressed how Man City pinned them in their own penalty box. On the rare occasions West Ham got the ball, they had nowhere to go and just ended up giving it back to City time after time, and immediately being back under pressure, which is exhausting for the defenders. I was hoping for the same in the second half yesterday, but sadly in never materialised. Partly because we didn’t work hard enough when we lost the ball, but also, and mainly because we didn’t pass the ball well enough. Even Cesc’s passing was off And you cannot create and maintain pressure when you keep gifting the ball to the opposition. We are better than that, but sadly we haven’t been anywhere consistent enough this season to mount a serious title challenge. Perhaps it’s because of tiredness with the limitations of the squad, but it’s certainly disappointing. Oh well.

LIverpool and arsenal results have made the blow a bit better. Weve got away with one there but like i said. You can just feel a bad result coming every couple of matches

Winning the title again was never really on however that top 4 place is a huge concern. Don’t know anymore who should be starting but all the players need to step up a gear or 2. Cant really blame the manager though I think he needs try something different sometimes.

Tiredness, sorry not having it, English teams have just set a record in the amount of teams (5) qualifying for the next stages of the CL and all bar us topping groups also.
Man city have also set records in the PL.
It’s 6 yes 6 extra games for pity’s sake, pro players of this era should be pissing that.
Conte is only moaning so much cos he wants to bat it back to the board due lack of signings in his eyes, and I guess he already knows not much will happen in January either
Add to that we just have so many players not cutting it, either when starting or coming off the bench, look at yesterday Pedro and Willian offered nothing when they came on, three breakaways we had late in the game of which between they messed them all up.
And as for alonso, wow he now looks like the player that was at Sunderland nuff said…..

Every cloud has a silver lining. All of Arsenal, Liverpool and United drop points.

Couldn’t see anyone catching City before today and I really can’t see anyone catching them now.

All the chasing pack are playing for 2nd place and the other two CL places.

According to my son who went – we were cr*p. Have not seen the game so cannot comment

Do not accept tiredness either. This is something that Conte knew was coming and while he may want to blame the board for not getting in enough players or those that he wanted he still does not rotate as often as he could if he really want too

Glad that city are out of site as we can clearly focus on getting into the top 4 and if I read some of the comments from other pages then we won’t have to worry about the CL for much longer either…!!

Very lucky with some of the other results but we do need to pick ourselves up and get a result tomorrow. KTBFFH
