Paper Talk: Tottenham ready to raid Bournemouth for £80m duo

David Brooks TEAMtalk

Tottenham are ready to launch an £80million bid to land two Bournemouth stars, while Liverpool are looking to pinch a proposed Watford signing, according to Saturday’s papers.

TOTTENHAM READY TO PICK OFF CHERRIES PAIR

Tottenham are reportedly eyeing an £80m double swoop for Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and David Brooks this summer.

Spurs are finally expected to end their transfer window shut-out, having failed to sign a single player in the last two windows, when Mauricio Pochettino is handed funds to improve his stretched first-team squad.

The report in The Sun states that Pochettino wants to bring in England international striker Wilson to provide cover and to compete with Harry Kane, while Brooks would add strength to the wide attacking options – currently occupied by Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura.

Wilson, 27, has scored 58 goals in 148 appearances for Eddie Howe’s Cherries since arriving from Coventry in 2014, and is also said to be a major target for Chelsea.

Brooks, 21, has gone from strength to strength since his arriving from Sheffield United for £11.5m in the summer of 2018 and has also been capped 10 times by Wales.

The arrival of the duo could be offset by the loss of Christian Eriksen and Fernando Llorente in north London, with Real Madrid still keen on the Dane and Llorente being tipped to return to Spain.
