Euro Paper Talk: Liverpool rocked as Real Madrid plot post World Cup raid for in-form Klopp man; Tottenham set new Ruslan Malinovskyi price

Liverpool are the subject of shock interest from Real Madrid in one of Jurgen Klopp’s major summer signings, while Friday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Tottenham have been told how much they will have to pay to sign a creative midfielder.

REAL EYEING SURPRISE LIVERPOOL RAID

Real Madrid have reportedly placed Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez on their list of attacking targets and could make a move for the Uruguayan after the World Cup.

Nunez only joined the Reds over the summer after excelling at Portuguese outfit Benfica, where he impressed playing against Liverpool twice in the Champions League.

After his Anfield career got off to a slow start, including a three-match ban for a red card at Crystal Palace, Nunez has started to show flashes of why the club forked out an initial £64million for his services.

Indeed, the striker notched seven goals in 10 Liverpool games before the break for the World Cup.

And now Defensa Central reports that form has led Real to consider making a move for the 23-year-old.

Real Madrid hunting Benzema successor

The Spanish giants are on the hunt for a new No.9 to replace Karim Benzema long-term.

While the France frontman remains a quality operator, injuries have struck late in his career. Indeed, he was forced to miss the World Cup for that very reason.

The chances of Liverpool being willing to give up on Nunez so early in his Anfield career remain slim though.

Jurgen Klopp was hugely impressed with what he saw from Nunez against the Reds last term and believes he can still maximise his potential on Merseyside.

So while Real’s interest does seem a little fanciful, they are probably better off chasing other targets in the January window.
