Arsenal stun Man City with agreement reached for £300,000-a-week winger; promotional footage ‘already filmed’

Man City have been cast aside by Arsenal who’ve struck an agreement with a winger who’ll become their new highest earner, and an announcement will arrive before the campaign concludes.
While Arsenal’s season may ultimately end trophyless, it cannot be argued Mikel Arteta’s side have taken great strides forward.
To ensure the current campaign becomes the new norm and not an outlier, a busy summer transfer window is expected at the Emirates.
West Ham’s Declan Rice will be on the move and Arsenal hope the England ace will choose them in a deal that could hit £100m.
Rice is also courting interest from Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool, though the Daily Mail stressed the Gunners are favourites.
However, just as important as reinforcing Arteta’s squad with new faces is tying those already in place down to long-term deals.
According to both talkSPORT and the PA news agency, that’s exactly what Arsenal are about to do with Bukayo Saka.
The 21-year-old right winger is the only EPL player to hit double figures in both goals (13) and assists (11) this term.
Saka is a two-time and reigning Arsenal Player of the Year and will push Martin Odegaard close when hoping to make it a hattrick.
Losing Saka is unimaginable for the Gunners, though according to trusted reporter Ben Jacobs, that’s exactly what Man City had in mind.
Man City threaten, but Saka commits to Arsenal
Jacobs previously told TEAMtalk City are “playing the long game” over Saka and Pep Guardiola’s side hold “genuine interest” in signing the player.
However, City’s hopes – at least in the here and now – are set to be dashed.
Firstly, the PA report Saka is ‘set to sign’ a new and improved contract with the Gunners.
Arsenal hope to announce the deal before the end of the season which is less than three weeks away. Talks had been ongoing since before the World Cup and the end is now within sight.
The PA stated an agreement has been ‘all-but reached’ and only the ‘finer details’ of the deal are left to be ironed out.
The PA also state promotional footage – such as media for the website and club’s social media channels – has already been filmed.
talkSPORT piggyback on the PA’s information, though add their own take and take it a step further.
They claim the new deal is in fact ‘agreed’ and Saka will become Arsenal’s new highest earner when pocketing £300,000-a-week.
A five-year deal running until 2028 is understood to be the length of the contract and the outlet double down on the claim Man City had indeed showed interest in plucking Saka from the Emirates.
Much to Arsenal fans’ and Arteta’s delight, Guardiola will be left empty-handed.
