Bukayo Saka: Humongous terms of new Arsenal contract revealed as Fabrizio Romano says ‘no way’ he’ll leave

A fresh report has revealed how much Bukayo Saka will benefit financially from the new contract he is about to sign at Arsenal.

Saka will be a candidate for the Premier League’s player of the season award, especially if Arsenal win the title. This season, the winger has scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists from 28 top-flight appearances.

Only Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City has set up more goals than Saka. However, the England international is the only player so far to reach double figures for both goals and assists.

Put together, his 22 goal contributions have only been bettered up to this point by City’s Erling Haaland and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

Since Saka’s contract is only due to last until the end of next season as things stand, Arsenal have been working to ensure they can enjoy his talents for much longer.

Their optimism of renewing his deal has been growing in recent weeks. A report by the Daily Mail in February revealed that Saka had told Arsenal he would be signing an extension.

Since then, Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Saka’s new deal is ready to be signed.

Now, both sources have provided yet more promising updates about the 21-year-old’s future at the Emirates Stadium. According to the Mail, Saka is set to earn almost £15million a season at Arsenal, including bonuses.

Roughly, he will take home £300,000 per week, which will make him the best-paid player at the club. However, he won’t eclipse Mesut Ozil’s old £350,000-per-week salary as the biggest in the club’s history.

Three suitors missing out on Bukayo Saka

Meanwhile, Romano has shared that Saka will put pen to paper “very soon”, since his “verbal agreement” remains intact.

The reporter has also claimed that Saka had three clubs monitoring him, with two of those being from elsewhere in the Premier League. One can be assumed to be Man City, since the Mail also named them as admirers.

However, per Romano, there is “no way” anyone else will be getting their hands on Saka this summer.

Consequently, there could be a lot for Arsenal and Saka to look forward to together. As the Mail concluded, the player is excited by the prospect of playing in the Champions League for the first time, which he more than likely will get to do with his current club next season.

With 169 appearances, 36 goals and 39 assists to his name for Arsenal already, Saka should have plenty of exciting chapters to add to his story with the club.

Tying him down for the long term will be an important move by the Gunners. It will allow them to build a long-term project around one of their standout players.

Keeping a player of his potential happy and committed is a sign of how much Arsenal have progressed recently. Now, their target will be to win silverware together again, with Saka already having medals from the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2020 in his cabinet.
