Arsenal business won’t end with Zinchenko, as reporter details the ‘big one’ they’ll turn to next

Arsenal could have a major transfer splash left in their locker after a Sky Sports reporter detailed what position they’ll address once Oleksandr Zinchenko is signed.

The Gunners look on course to sign Man City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko. The two clubs have forged an agreement over the transfer, with Arsenal ready to fork out £30m for the Ukraine international.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, Fabrizio Romano tweeted discussions are currently ongoing regarding personal terms.

That is something Sky Sports believe ultimately won’t be a problem. And with Zinchenko keen on the move, the deal could cross the line later this week. (Editor’s note: David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano reported Zinchenko has agreed personal terms on Monday night)

If Zinchenko signs, Arsenal’s tally of summer arrivals will swell to five. Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Gabriel Jesus have already been snapped up.

Jesus is the marquee name on that list and has made a frightening start in pre-season. The Brazilian cost £45m to sign from Man City and has already bagged three goals in two matches so far.

However, according to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, another major acquisition could be on the cards.

Responding in a Q&A, Sheth was asked what Arsenal’s attention will turn to once Zinchenko arrives.

Raphinha-calibre deal next up?

Sheth insisted Arsenal will continue to be active in the market and stated right wing is likely to be their next port of call.

“They’re still in the market to bring in players,” said Sheth. “I think the right-wing position is something they want to strengthen.

“They were in for Raphinha and didn’t get him. Are they just going to leave that position alone? I don’t think so.

“Gabriel Jesus is seen as a number 9. Nketiah has signed a new contract. I think they’ll still be in the market for someone on that right side.

“Arsenal have backed Arteta all the way. There might still be a big one left in the window.”

Who could Arsenal sign?

Mikel Arteta can already call upon Bukayo Saka for the right flank. That didn’t stop them bidding to sign Raphinha, however, and a player of that calibre recently linked to Arsenal was Leroy Sane.

CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs claimed Sane on Arsenal’s radar prior to their Raphinha pursuit. With the ex-Leeds ace now in Barcelona, their interest in Sane could be reignited.

What’s more, Bild reported Bayern Munich are open to cashing in if their £59m price tag is met.

Sane is well known to Arteta through his time at the Etihad as Pep Guardiola’s No 2.
