Reports in Italy claim Arsenal have set Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic a deadline to make up his mind about joining the club this month.
The Gunners have made no secret of their desire to sign the Serbia international. The 21-year-old has been the subject of many column inches in January as Mikel Arteta pursues his target. Vlahovic is one of the hottest properties in European football after his stellar showing for I Viola.
He hit 21 goals from 40 appearances in all competitions last term. And the Serbia international has already found the net on 20 occasions in 2021-2022.
The north Londoners are seeking a new striker, with doubts over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future. And, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah out of contract this summer, it is obvious why they are pushing so hard.
The Italian outfit are willing to do business with Arsenal. But there are many obstacles to overcome before any deal is completed, according to sporting director Joe Barone.
“Some English clubs have made contact with Fiorentina, but there is no agreement,” he told La Nazione. “The English club want Vlahovic, but evidently he’s got other ideas. We’re ready to negotiate, but him and his agent won’t talk.”
The transfer window is open until the end of the month. But, according to la Repubblica, via The Mirror, the Emirates club are not prepared to wait until the last minute to get their man.
They state that Arsenal have told the former Partizan star that he has until the middle of next week to make a decision.

Vlahovic sets sights on Champions League
Arsenal have rallied under Arteta this season and currently sit sixth in the Premier League table. They are in with a decent chance of a top-four finish but face competition from West Ham, Tottenham and Manchester United.
Vlahovic wants to join a club who can offer him the chance of playing in Europe’s top club competition. It is touch-and-go as to whether Arteta’s side can do that.
And that is why the talented youngster might hold out until the summer before making his move. The man with seven Serbia goals has his eyes on a switch to Juventus.
It was recently reported that he has agreed personal terms with the Old Lady. Juve are currently fifth in Serie A but have plenty of time to move into the top four.
Arsenal have reportedly offered £66million for the rising star but other factors appear to be shifting his attention elsewhere. He favours a switch to Manchester City if he does end up in England.
