Euro Paper Talk: Edu talks for Uruguayan winger confirmed as double Arsenal raid on South America nears; Tottenham name huge price for Liverpool, Real Madrid target

Arsenal are nearing two raids on South America ahead of the January window, with a Uruguayan winger first through the door, Tottenham have set a lofty price on a star man amid links to Liverpool and Real Madrid, while Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk claims an agent is pushing a Man Utd star towards Barcelona.

Arsenal are stepping up the chase to bring Orlando City winger Facundo Torres to Emirates Stadium, according to reports.

Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is desperate to add more options to his wide attacking areas having allowed Nicolas Pepe to depart over the summer. And while the Frenchman is only on loan at Nice, he looks unlikely to play any future role for the Gunners.

As such, Arteta is looking into alternative wingers to strengthen his squad. And the likes of Cody Gakpo and Mykhaylo Mudryk are two big name stars that the Gunners are looking at.

However, Gakpo is reportedly favouring a move to Manchester United. And Shakhtar’s £45m asking price for Mudryk looks too prohibitive for Arsenal.

Instead, they are reportedly sounding out 10-cap Uruguay star Torres instead.

The 22-year-old only moved to the MLS side for a £7m deal last January, but has quickly had a major impact. Indeed, he has 13 goals and 10 assists from 40 appearances so far.

Now Arsenal are keen to strike a deal with Orlando before the World Cup with the Gunners fearing some big displays in Qatar will alert others to him.

Now the winger’s agent, Edgardo Lasalvia, has revealed to ESPN he is holding talks with London-based agent Toni Lima, to broker a deal with Edu and Arsenal.

Arsenal want to add Danilo to Facundo Torres signing

By multiple sources, Arsenal will have around £50m to spend in the January window.

And as well as a new winger, Arteta also wants to strengthen his central midfield options.

As such, the Gunners boss is also reportedly stepping up his interest in Palmeiras star Danilo.

The midfielder is emerging as Arteta’s No 1 midfield target in the new year amid claims he can leave the Brazilian side.

Indeed, as per journalist Ekrem Konor, Arsenal scouts were again in attendance recently to watch Danilo in action.

And The Sun reports that Edu believes he can get a deal done for around £26m.

And with Torres likely to cost a similar amount, the duo will cost a combined £52m which is just within their budget.

Edu believes the South American market represents excellent value for money, having also brought in Gabriel Martinelli and Marquinhos in recent times.
