Arsenal, Tottenham told Bundesliga star would ruin ‘perfect fit’ by joining Arteta or Conte

Evan Ndicka, Yussuf Poulsen RB Leipzig v Eintracht Frankfurt March 2022

Evan Ndicka should reject transfer interest from Arsenal and Tottenham and instead stay at Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Jan Aage Fjortoft.

French defender Ndicka has risen to prominence following his move to Germany in 2018. He left AJ Auxerre seeking first-team football after rising through the ranks in France.

And he impressed straight away, tallying 27 Bundesliga appearances in his debut season at Frankfurt.

Overall, he has racked up 128 outings for his current club and subsequently attracted transfer interest from elsewhere.

Liverpool had initial links with a move in 2020. However, the Reds went across to Germany and to Leipzig to bolster their back line with Ndicka’s fellow Frenchman Ibrahima Konate.

Nevertheless, Arsenal have emerged as one of the frontrunners alongside Tottenham for Ndicka.

According to former Premier League star Fjortoft, though, Ndicka has become a perfect fit for Frankfurt and should stay there.

“Apart from strikers like [Erling] Haaland or [Kylian] Mbappe, it is above all centre-backs who are in demand in the next transfer period,” the Norwegian pundit told Bild.

“Chelsea’s [Antonio] Rudiger and [Andreas] Christensen are on the market, and in Germany internationals like [Matthias] Ginter and [Niklas] Sule. Freiburg’s [Nico] Schlotterbeck probably too. So there is movement coming in.

Saka set to be rewarded with big new Arsenal contract

Bukayo Saka is set to get his current wage quadrupled this summer as Arsenal are set to offer him £120,000 a week.

“Of course, with every defender who can head and is tall, people say: he’s one for England… But there are big differences in the Premier League.

“If you play at Burnley, for example, you are almost always deep at the back for 90 minutes and are constantly fighting two-on-one. It’s different to the top clubs, where you have to defend much higher up and, above all, be quick.

“I would like him to stay. Evan is a perfect fit for Eintracht.”

Ndicka’s best tally of Bundesliga appearances in a season remains his 27 in his debut Frankfurt campaign. However, he has already made 25 outings this term and is set to break that mark.

Ndicka would follow similar Arsenal, Tottenham investment

Evan Ndicka, Lee Dong-jun Hertha Berlin v Eintracht Frankfurt March 2022

Arsenal and Tottenham have recently revamped their defence to great effect for respective managers Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte.

The Gunners brought in Ben White for £50million from Brighton last summer.

Meanwhile, Cristian Romero moved to Spurs from Atalanta in the same transfer window and Conte has lauded the Argentine for his ability to adapt to the Premier League.

Ndicka has impressed in his time with Frankfurt so far and his contract runs out at the end of next season.

As such, Frankfurt face a decision over his future this summer. Should he not wish to sign a new contract, they could sell up to avoid losing a promising defender – and a guaranteed profit – for nothing.
