A host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Brentford are chasing highly-rated Danish teenager goalkeeper Theo Sander, according to TEAMtalk sources.

Sander has caught the eye of a number of top clubs across Europe after impressing for AaB and for Denmark’s various youth sides.

The 17-year-old has earned himself the reputation as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in Europe and last season enjoyed a spell on trial at Italian giants Juventus.

Sander made his first-team debut for AaB in August this year and in the process became the youngest goalkeeper in Danish Superliga history.

The 6ft 4in shot-stopper has made seven appearances for AaB so far this season and his Premier League suitors have made regular scouting trips to watch Sander in action this year.

Arsenal, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Brentford all see Sander as a future star in the making and they are weighing up moves for the talented teenager.

We understand the Gunners are among those making regular checks on Sander’s progress.

But Villa and Newcastle scouts are alerted too, while Brentford  – who have strong connections in Denmark – are also extremely keen.

Indeed, Bees manager Thomas Frank is reportedly following Sander’s development closely.

TEAMtalk sources also understands that Sander would qualify for a work permit to play in England. We understand he meets the requirements for a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE), making his signing even more appealing to the Premier League quartet.
