Gabriel Jesus ‘lucky’ to play with remarkable Arsenal star pair he thinks are ‘machines’

Gabriel Jesus has underlined his gratitude to play alongside a pair of Arsenal stars both in fantastic form, and who he has hailed as “machines”.
Arsenal appear to have returned to their position as one of the sides to beat in the Premier League. Indeed, they had slipped away from being their former ruthless selves in the last few seasons.
The last time the Gunners finished in the Premier League’s top four was in the 2015/16 season, when they finished second.
Since then, their best finish has been fifth, and they have twice finished in eighth. This season, though, they seem to be back to their best.
The north London outfit currently sit at the top of the Premier League table. The Gunners have dropped points in just two games, and are clear of Manchester City by two points.
A lot of the success of late can be attributed to the players Mikel Arteta has brought in. Indeed, there have been some top signings at the club of late.
The likes of Ben White and Martin Odegaard, who arrived under Arteta, have added quality to the squad.
This summer saw the Spanish manager pull in perhaps his biggest signing, though, former Manchester City striker Jesus.
The Brazilian has hit the ground running at Arsenal – he is the club’s joint-top goalscorer this term, with five goals. He has also provided four assists since he joined the Emirates outfit.
Gabriel Jesus hails star pair of teammates
As well as Jesus, a couple of Arsenal’s younger players have also starred this season. Bukayo Saka has already contributed to nine goals in all competitions, and Gabriel Martinelli has scored four goals and provided two assists.
Indeed, the trio are forming quite the potent attack. Jesus has had nothing but good things to say about the other members of the Gunners’ front line.
“They are machines!” he said, quoted by Metro.
“I joke with them because I think I have a lot of energy but when I train with them I realise I’m not close because they don’t stop. They’re still young so I’m lucky to play with them.”
Clearly, the former Man City man is relishing the opportunity to play alongside the in-form attackers.
Jesus thriving at Arsenal
Given his good start to the season, it would seem Jesus is enjoying his time at Arsenal. The Brazilian has admitted that is indeed the case, and he is prepared to go the extra mile for his new side.
“I’m eating well, sleeping well. I’m enjoying life in my new shirt,” he said.
“I’m ready to play 50, 60, 70 games this season. I live with my daughter, which helps me to mentally recover from playing and training.”
Arsenal will hope that their star striker plays as many games as possible, and continues firing throughout the season.
