Star Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has “another level” and teams like Real Madrid and Juventus coming knocking is “inevitable”, as per former Chelsea man Ramires.

Martinelli has been one of the Gunners’ most potent assets in front of goal this season. The Brazilian is the club’s joint second-top goalscorer with five goals.

Furthermore, he is just one goal shy of his career-best tally of six goals from last season. That he also chipped in with six assists during that campaign shows his talent in both finishing and providing.

His performances this term have been one of the driving forces in Arsenal’s success. Indeed, the north London outfit are top of the Premier League, having lost just once.

Martinelli, along with Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka in the front line, have been superb.

Each of that front three has scored five goals so far this term. It is clear that the trio really enjoy playing alongside one another.

With Jesus likely to spend some time on the sidelines after sustaining an injury at the World Cup, added reliance will be on the likes of Martinelli to perform.

Indeed, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stated his side have a lot of “accompanying players” that can fill the void left by Jesus.

Martinelli has ‘another level’

Martinelli continuing to hit his straps will be great for his future prospects. His progression over the last few seasons has been clear.

If he does carry on in his fantastic vein of form, he could well go to the next level.

Those are the thoughts of former Chelsea midfielder Ramires. The Brazilian believes that there is another level in the Arsenal man, and he could soon reach that.

“Gabriel Martinelli is a terrific player, he’s been absolutely tremendous for Arsenal this season, and it’s great to see a young Brazilian coming through and showing so much maturity,” he said via Metro.

“I personally believe that Martinelli still has another level within himself that he’s yet to find, because he’s still so young, and he’s developing.

“He’s improving with every single game, and if Arsenal can keep hold of him, they have a top, top player who can bring so much happiness to the fans in the shape of trophies.”

Martinelli destined for big move

While that is positive for the time being, big clubs will soon come calling if Martinelli continues to succeed at Arsenal.

“It’s inevitable that huge clubs like Real Madrid and Juventus will come knocking on the door,” Ramires added.

“At Arsenal, he is playing for a huge club with lots of ambition, but of course, there’s always going to be another level.

“I’d say it’s down to Martinelli and what he wants, you know, it’s natural for players like him to think about teams such as Real Madrid, the size and stature of that club, and how it was maybe a childhood dream to play for them.”

Indeed, he could well find himself on the way to a big club at some point over the next season or so. That would be massive for him, given he was turned down by a couple of big clubs before being signed by Arsenal.

However, at just 21 years of age, it will be important for him to stay grounded. The Emirates seems like the perfect environment for him to thrive in for the time being.
