Oleksandr Zinchenko declares transfer to ‘amazing club’ Arsenal is ‘boyhood dream come true’
Following his move from Manchester City to Arsenal, Oleksandr Zinchenko has admitted the move was a ‘boyhood dream come true’.
Zinchenko recently became the fifth arrival at The Emirates this summer, following his £30million move from Man City. He follows former teammate Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Matt Turner and Marquinhos.
Arsenal had been tracking the Zinchenko for some time. Whispers that Mikel Arteta was keen to move for him began at the back end of last season.
Clearly, the move is one that all parties were keen on. The Ukrainian has been giving his thoughts to the Arsenal Website following his arrival at the club.
“First of all I would like to say this is a boyhood dream come true,” he said.
“I was a massive fan when I was a kid.
“I am so excited and I cannot wait to play for this amazing club.”
Both he and the club will hope that he performs well following his transfer from the English Champions.
Zinchenko made 127 appearances in five seasons at City, seemingly it was time for a new challenge.
He seems a good fit for Arsenal, and at present it looks like a very good signing.

Mikel Arteta and Jesus, both of whom Zinchenko knew from Man City, were clearly big factors in his decision.
“I would say it’s the most important role in my decision because I’ve known [Arteta] for a while,” he said.
“Since the first day at City I knew that he’s going to be a very good manager. The way he can see football, especially I was watching the last season of Arsenal’s games and I was really enjoying it.”
Similarly, it seems Zinchenko is keen to play with Jesus again.
“We are close to each other and I love him so much,” he said.
“He was also involved in the discussions and all these things, so he’s told me a lot of good things about this amazing club and about this atmosphere.”
It seems as if Zinchenko is already settling in, and everyone at the club will hope that shows on the pitch.
