Report claims Arsenal could lose four stars to PSG if Thierry Henry takes charge in €275m transfer spree

PSG are reported to be strongly considering the appointment of Thierry Henry as their next manager – and it’s claimed the Frenchman will target four potential signings from Arsenal to transform the Ligue 1 giants.
The capital club are champions of France once again, winning their ninth title in the last 11 seasons. Despite their latest triumph, it will not be enough to keep Christoph Galtier as head coach. Indeed, the 58-year-old will leave Paris after just one season and inspite of a 68% win percentage record.
PSG coaches, though, are ultimately judged on their success in European competition. And once Paris Saint-Germain crashed out of the Champions League at the first knockout stage, losing 3-0 on aggregate to Bayern Munich, the writing was on the wall.
Now, according to reports, PSG have two candidates in mind to become their new head coach.
Leading the charge is Julian Nagelsmann, who was surprisingly axed by Bayern Munich back in March.]
Strongly linked with Tottenham for a spell, their failure to ultimately qualify for the Champions League, together with doubts over the quality of their squad, saw the 35-year-old reject their advances.
Links with Real Madrid soon followed, though Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to stay on for a third season has closed that avenue too.
Now PSG are in the driving seat to secure his appointment, with talks planned later this month.
Per Foot Mercato, Nagelsmann is a strong candidate for the job and is right at the top of their wishlist.
However, should a move for Nagelsmann fail, then Henry is being lined up as their Plan B.

Thierry Henry wants Arsenal quartet at PSG
The Arsenal legend does not have much experience in the way of top level management.
He has had less-than noteworthy spells in charge of Monaco and Montreal Impact. However, he has perhaps gained the most acclaim working under Roberto Martinez as Belgium asssistant coach during two spells.
Now it seems PSG are strongly considering him for their top job should talks with Nagelsmann fail.
The French giants have also confirmed the exit of Lionel Messi after two years in Paris. He will likely now seal a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.
Sergio Ramos has also departed the Parc des Princes too. And the French giants are reportedly targeting a younger line-up of stars next season to try and steer them towards success.
And in a speculative report, the Daily Express has picked out four Arsenal players that Henry will look to target if he gets the top job.
First up, Arsenal will need to be wary of strong €60m PSG links to William Saliba.
The 22-year-old has been a revelation under Mikel Arteta this season, forming a solid partnership with Gabriel in defence.
The Gunners are desperate to tie him to a new deal with his current arrangement due to expire in 2024. Arsenal do have a one-year option on that but want to extend his stay and offer him a hefty pay hike in the process.
However, links to PSG are well documented and they are reportedly ready to offer Saliba a huge package to lure him back to France.
The report also claims PSG are considering huge approaches for three other Arsenal stars too.
PSG also tracking Odegaard, Tierney and Martinelli
And in Martin Odegaard, he too is another player Arsenal are desperate to secure to a new deal.
His performances this season went up a significant level and the Norwegian is now regarded as one of the Premier League’e elite stars.
Scoring 15 times and assisting with seven more underlines his qualities and importance to Arsenal. However, the Express claims the financial powers of PSG could be difficult for Odegaard to turn down if they were to make a move. The star is currently rated at around €80m.
In addition, they are also reportedly casting admiring glances towards Gabriel Martinelli as a possible replacement for Messi.
The Brazilian has also just enjoyed his best season yet for Arsenal, scoring 15 times in the Premier League.
Tied to Arsenal until 2027, the Gunners are under no obligations to sell him. And they claim it would take a nine-figure offer (€100m) to even consider his sale.
The fourth player on the list, Kieran Tierney, is perhaps the only player on their wishlist Arsenal would consider selling.
The left-back has faded from the first-team picture this season. And while Arteta would ideally like to keep him, the Scottish star is angling for more regular football.
As a result, he could be allowed to move on if the price is right with Newcastle among those considering a £35m raid. But PSG could yet step in to beat Newcastle to any possible deal, per the report.
And while Arsenal would certainly consider his sale, they would do everything in their power to halt the exits of the other trio.
Deals for all four stars, though, could net Arsenal an estimated €275m – not that their sales are under consideration.
