Transfer Gossip: Arsenal, Liverpool catch LaLiga side off guard over £67m forward; Man Utd, Chelsea striker target speaks out

Villarreal winger Yeremi Pino

Arsenal and Liverpool have surprised Villarreal with their interest in wing sensation Yeremi Pino, while a Man Utd and Chelsea target at centre-forward wants his future wrapped up with all haste – both in Tuesday’s Transfer Gossip.

Liverpool and Arsenal are both mulling moves for Villarreal sensation Yeremi Pino and a report claims the Spanish side already know where they’ll spend the money if he goes.

The 19-year-old winger, sometimes known as just Yeremy, has burst onto the scene during Unai Emery’s time at the club.

Yeremy notched six goals and four assists in 31 LaLiga outings last year. While that may not sound overly impressive, it’s important to note he began the season aged just 18.

Indeed, his performances for someone so young caught the eye and he duly received his senior Spain call-up in October.

Spanish outlet AS reports Yeremy holds a release clause worth approximately £67m. Villarreal have reportedly snubbed an approach from Barcelona and believed that would be the end of the matter for this summer at least.

However, according to AS, Liverpool and Arsenal have surprised Villarreal with their interest.

The Premier League pair are described as ‘lining up’ moves according to the Sun, while Football London state they’ve ‘locked horns’ over Yeremy.

Villarreal eyeing Spurs raid with Yeremi Pino money

The Reds and Gunners aren’t expected to trigger the player’s release clause. Instead, if concrete offers are lodged, it’s suggested they’ll be well below the £67m in an attempt to test the waters.

However, AS do stress that if a suitable offer is lodged, Villarreal will face a ‘difficult decision’ over their newest superstar.

In fact, Football London add if Villarreal do sell, their first order of business will be to reinvest the money in a move for Tottenham midfielder, Giovani Lo Celso.

The Argentine impressed on a six-month loan spell with the Yellow Submarine last year. They’re currently pursuing another loan move for the upcoming campaign, though a Yeremy sale would allow them to try a permanent capture.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Man Utd target, Sasa Kalajdzic, has called for a rapid conclusion with his future still hanging in the balance.

The Stuttgart and Austria hitman, 25, has emerged on the radars of both Manchester United and Chelsea. Everton have also been linked with the 6ft 7in behemoth.

Manchester United are currently pursuing Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic, though the Italian side recently set them straight. Anthony Martial’s hamstring injury and Cristiano Ronaldo’s desire to play Champions League football has left Erik ten Hag with question marks up front.

The Blues, meanwhile, have loaned Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan and will sell Timo Werner back to RB Leipzig very shortly.

Both sides want a new centre-forward before the window is out and Kalajdzic has emerged as one such option.

Rated at £15m, the Stuttgart striker – who has operated at around one goal in two over the past few seasons – would represent a cost-effective option.

And speaking in the aftermath of his side’s 1-1 draw with Leipzig, Kalajdzic claimed his future will become clear in the coming weeks.

“I don’t know myself how my future will turn out but that will become apparent in the next few weeks or as soon as possible, but I can’t influence many things either,” he told DAZN.

If United’s pursuit of Arnautovic falters and a Thomas Tuchel reunion with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doesn’t materialise, the Kaladzjic option may be seriously explored.

Finally, Spurs are on the cusp of wrapping up signing number seven after a move for Destiny Udogie was given the seal of approval by Fabrizio Romano.

The Udinese left-back, 19, emerged as a key target for both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici.

The Italian pair see Udogie as one for the future and intend to loan him back to Udinese for a season once signed.

According to Romano, Spurs have reached a ‘full agreement’ with Udinese and personal terms with the player are also settled.

Udogie will arrive on a permanent deal worth ‘more than £16.9m’. He will be loaned back to Serie A for 12 months before linking up with Spurs in the summer of 2023.

Romano gave Tottenham’s potential seventh summer signing his signature ‘here we go’ confirmation.
