Paper Talk: Arsenal hold talks over two midfielder deals to leave fans drooling

Youri Tielemans, Ashley Barnes Leicester celebrate a goal in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium

Arsenal are in talks over a deal for Youri Tielemans – and also have eyes on another exciting midfield signing – Manchester United have three successors in mind to Cristiano Ronaldo, while Thursday’s transfer gossip claims Chelsea have a three-man transfer wishlist.

Arsenal are reportedly in talks over a sensational deal for Youri Tielemans as his Leicester contract begins to wind down.

The Belgian is regarded as one of the Premier League’s outstanding midfielders. But with just 18 months left on his deal, the Foxes are growing fearful that a departure may be on the cards.

Despite efforts to extend his stay, Tielemans has so far rejected their advances. That has opened the door for a series of suitors to lurk with Liverpool and Manchester United among his suitors.

But the Daily Mirror claims they look likely to be pipped to the post by Arsenal after opening talks with his representatives.

And while a January deal looks unlikely, the Gunners are reportedly gaining in confidence that a summer deal will be struck.

By then, Tielemans will have just a year left on his deal and Arsenal are sniffing out a reduced fee.

And while the former Monaco man will still come with a £40m price tag, that will represent a real coup for a player of his quality.

Arsenal fancy Arthur before Youri Tielemans

Of course, Arsenal need central midfielders now. To that end, Edu and Co are looking for an immediate fix.

Bayern Munich join Liverpool, Manchester United in Youri Tielemans race

Bayern Munich have reportedly joined the race with Liverpool and Manchester United for Leicester's Youri Tielemans, with more updates on Florian Wirtz and Robert Lewandowski.

And they appear to be advancing in talks over a loan swoop for Juventus man Arthur.

The 25-year-old midfielder is reportedly keen on leaving Juventus, and a temporary move to Emirates Stadium looks likely.

The move will give both parties the chance to assess one another. But it’s a formula that has served Arsenal well in the past with Martin Odegaard. And they will hope for similar success with the former Barcelona man if they can secure his signature.
