One of Italy’s most illustrious clubs are ‘serious’ about landing an Arsenal attacker as part of a huge triple swoop this summer, as per a report.

Arsenal have been involved in several big transfers already this summer. They have spent around £208million when signing Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber. Arsenal’s most high-profile exit so far has been Granit Xhaka’s move back to Germany with Bayer Leverkusen.

Arsenal were originally backed to receive around £13m for the Swiss midfielder. But they ended up netting a cool €25m (£21.3m) for him, which is good money considering the fact Xhaka is 30 years of age.

Centre-forward Folarin Balogun could soon end up following Xhaka out of the Emirates. The USA international was in great form while on loan at Ligue 1 side Stade Reims last term, finding the back of the net 21 times in 37 league matches. Only Kylian Mbappe, Alexandre Lacazette and Jonathan David scored more than Balogun in the French top flight, as he did better than big names such as Lionel Messi, Alexis Sanchez and Neymar.

On June 19, Balogun took his future into his own hands by publicly revealing he would not go out on another loan. He either wants to be given regular first-team opportunities at Arsenal or be sold.

As Mikel Arteta can already utilise Gabriel Jesus up front, it is highly likely Balogun will secure a permanent transfer this summer.

Inter hold strong interest in the 22-year-old. They believe he could become a huge star in Italy following his recent exploits in France.

Italian source Corriere dello Sport have provided an update on the situation, as cited by Tuttomercatoweb. They reveal that once Inter complete the signing of midfielder Lazar Samardzic from Udinese, they will turn their attention to two striker deals.

Arsenal attacker could secure big move

The first will be Arsenal’s Balogun, whom Inter are ‘serious’ about. Inter have previously been tipped to bid €40m (£34.3m) for Balogun. But it is now claimed that they do not actually have that money to hand and want to organise a different deal to give them time to save up.

Instead, the Nerazzurri are said to be planning a loan bid with the obligation for them to buy the goalscorer next summer. That purchase option will be set at €35m (£30m).

Inter chiefs are hopeful this offer will be high enough to be accepted. Although, the report states that Arsenal are hoping to receive £43m, which means some negotiations may need to be done.

Balogun could form part of a new-look attack for Inter next season as they attempt to replace Romelu Lukaku and Joaquin Correa. And the former England youth international is not the only Prem forward who could head there.

Inter are also eyeing up West Ham’s Gianluca Scamacca, who appears to be unhappy following his disappointing first season in the Prem.

However, Inter will have to act fast to win the race for Scamacca. This is because he has also emerged as a target for their Serie A rivals Juventus and Roma.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have agreed terms with a Prem rival over the sale of one of their players, according to an insider.
