Turkish giants ramp up pursuit of Arsenal star who could play key role after Partey injury
Arsenal are reportedly gearing themselves up for a bid from Turkish giants Fenerbache for a key midfielder in the coming days.
Reports from Turkey suggest that Fenerbahce are considering making a late move for veteran Gunners star Jorginho before their summer window shuts on September 15.
The 31-year-old only joined the Gunners from Chelsea back in January, signing an 18-month contract with an option for a further year. He made 17 appearances in his first six months in North London but has only featured three times off the bench late on this season.
The Italy international’s game time has clearly been impacted by Declan Rice’s summer arrival, with the England man producing his best display in an Arsenal shirt in the 3-1 win over Manchester United last weekend.
Jorginho is concerned, however, that not being involved as much could have an impact on his international chances.
Indeed, the midfielder has already been left out of Luciano Spalletti’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers, with the new Italy coach opting for a younger squad instead.

Fenerbache ready £17m Jorginho bid
And now a report from Ajansspor journalist Arda Birben claims that Fenerbahce are eyeing a move for Jorginho and could submit an offer of around £17million to Arsenal in the coming days.
The likelihood of them succeeding with that bid is slim though, given an injury to Thomas Partey in the Emirates ranks.
The Ghana international is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks after suffering a groin injury prior to the win over United.
If Arteta allows him to move on it will limit the number of options he currently has in his engine room, especially after allowing Albert Sambi Lokonga to join Luton Town on loan on deadline day.
The Gunners are not back in action now until September 17 when they take on Everton in the Premier League after the international break.
