Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Youri Tielemans is going to leave Leicester City at the end of the season, with Arsenal keen on the signing.
Tielemans has been one of the most important players at Leicester since joining the club in 2019. He came to England with a lot of promise, after leaving Monaco for £40.5million.
The Belgian showed his class in his initial loan period in England. Tielemans bagged three goals and provided five assists in 13 games, leading the Foxes to sign him permanently.
His impact was clear in his first season after the signing, too. The midfielder contributed to 13 goals in all competitions – nine of which came in the league – as Leicester finished fifth.
The following season, Tielemans contributed to 10 goals in the league, with Leicester finishing fifth again. His role was just as crucial in the Foxes’ FA Cup triumph: the Belgian scored three goals – including one in the final – and provided two assists in six games.
This season, he continued his top form, contributing to 11 goals in all competitions. Indeed, after a good few seasons in the Premier League, it has looked as if it may be time for Tielemans to move on to bigger things.
A number of top sides, including Real Madrid and Arsenal, have been linked with the midfielder.
Transfer guru Romano recently reported that Tielemans is ‘gonna leave Leicester’.

Arsenal have moved quickly and are in talks with Youri Tielemans from Leicester City
That specialist also states that Arsenal ‘are still interested’ and negotiations ‘will take some time’.
Real Madrid will reportedly no longer attempt to sign the Leicester star, amid their pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni. As such, Arsenal could be out in front, though ‘two other clubs’ are in the race, according to Romano.
Tielemans appears good signing for Arsenal
Following a number of good seasons with Leicester, Tielemans has stood out. Clearly, he is a good Premier League footballer, and could benefit from a move to a bigger side.
Indeed, he could thrive along with the likes of Martin Odegaard in the Gunners’ midfield.
Tielemans wanting European football has been reported as one reason for him potentially moving. Arsenal could offer him Europa League football this season.
They came close to securing Champions League football, and adding him into the squad could mean they venture into that competition next season.
