@tomk.. Who else would you rather have in charge? The improvement he had on these players was evident when he first arrived but too many games and injuries to key players has taken it’s toll. Bar 1 or 2 players, he’s inherited a side which is devoid of any sort of creativity or tactical awareness. Not to mention they’re incredibly slow, weak and lack any sort of aerial or physical presence. Anyone can point fingers at Benteke all day long but is the supply to him good enough? No it’s not. What we have witnessed is wayward cossing, abysmal decision making in the final third and set pieces that yield little or no threat to the opponents’ goal.

Both full backs have been poor at both ends of the pitch, especially Clyne, who has been hiding behind the poor performances of others. Our only winger, a youngster who looks increasingly disinterested, can’t cross to save his life. Milner’s crosses never clear the first defender but he’s our set piece specialist apparently. Lallana has no idea where to go with the ball. I could go on and on all day but the main point is that the supply to the forwards is below average. Don’t even get me started on the defence. Mistakes are one thing but there’s no quality at all to make up for them. That is the problem with this team.
