Aston Villa forward joins Championship promotion hopefuls Forest on loan

Aston Villa forward Keinan Davis has joined Nottingham Forest on loan for the rest of the 2021-22 campaign.
Davis, 23, has played just once in the Premier League this term. He has spent most of his time with Aston Villa’s reserves, leading to rumours of a senior loan in January.
Forest soon came calling and have now agreed a deal to land the former England U20 international.
Davis will help Steve Cooper’s side as they look to gain promotion from the Championship. The East Midlands outfit sit ninth after 25 matches but are only five points off the play-off places.
On the transfer, Davis said: “It feels good to be here, especially early in the window.
“I can just hit the ground running and get going straight away. Forest are a big club who have won major European trophies and their history speaks for itself.
“I want to help improve the team, hopefully keep progressing along the way and see where we are at the end of season.”

Five Premier league clubs chasing Bayer Leverkusen forward Patrick Schick
Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick has reportedly emerged as a 2022 target for up to five Premier League clubs.
Forest boss Cooper added: “We are delighted that Keinan has chosen to join us as he had offers elsewhere but has seen us as the right option for his development at this stage of his career.
“I have tracked him over a number of seasons and think it’s a good move for all parties. I’m really happy that Keinan is joining us and am really looking forward to working with him.”
Davis is unavailable for Forest’s match against Barnsley on Monday. His debut could come in the FA Cup against Arsenal on Sunday January 9.

Integral Aston Villa star wanted by Man Utd
Meanwhile, Football Insider claim Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez is on Ralf Rangnick’s wish list at Man Utd.
The Red Devils are ‘closely monitoring’ Martinez’s situation. They are unlikely to move in January but could submit a bid in the summer.
David de Gea is in top form but is now 31 years old and also out of contract in 2023. Dean Henderson, meanwhile, could leave Manchester as he hunts regular game time.
Martinez could be a perfect replacement for de Gea at Old Trafford as he is a couple of years younger than the Spaniard.
A deal will not be straightforward though. Villa will be reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival. As such, they will demand £40m for Martinez’s services.
The shot-stopper spent 10 years on the books at Arsenal before leaving for Villa in September 2020. He is now regarded as one of the best keepers in the top flight.
