Sources: Aston Villa to recoup £5m as winger Jaden Philogene heads to Hull on deadline day

Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene is set to sign a four-year deal to join Hull on transfer deadline day, TEAMtalk understands.

The Tigers have agreed to pay Villa £5million for Philogene and the paperwork for the deal has all been finalised between the two clubs.

Villa have included a buy-back clause plus a sell-on clause in Philogene’s deal, similar to what they did when selling Aaron Ramsey to Burnley earlier this month.

Ipswich Town were also keen on signing Philogene, but Hull moved quickly to win the race for the skilful attacker.

Philogene was a regular feature for Villa during their pre-season campaign and played in all three games during their tour of the USA.

The 21-year-old made an appearance off the bench in the Premier League opening day defeat to Newcastle United, but Villa feel they are well stocked for attackers to allow Philogene move on.

Unai Emery’s men are back in action on Sunday when they head to Liverpool in the Premier League.
