James first joined the Planet Sport network in 2015 as part of the team based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Born in Pietermaritzburg in 1984, James matriculated from Wartburg Kirchdorf School after being awarded the CM Woerner Trophy for Literary Achievement.
James furthered his education at Trinity Academy and UNISA with studies in Theology, History and English Literature.
Relocating from KwaZulu Natal to the Western Cape in 2013, James has worked in sports journalism since 2015.
James is deeply in love with the holy trinity of sports in South Africa: Cricket, rugby and football.
He was first drawn to football by the exploits of Liverpool’s Robbie Fowler only to suffer through 26 of the 30 years of hurt supporting the Anfield club. He’s a sucker for punishment as a lifelong fan of the Sharks (the ones from Durban not Sale) and South Africa’s national cricket team and has shed an ocean of tears over failed athletic endeavours.
