Sources: Birmingham target move for brilliant League One star with 18 goal contributions this season

Ephron Mason-Clark of Peterborough United warms up ahead of kick-off during the Sky Bet League 1 match between Derby County and Peterborough at the Pride Park, Derby

Birmingham are targeting a move for highly-rated Peterborough star Ephron Mason-Clark this summer, TEAMtalk understands.

Mason-Clark has caught the eye at League One Posh after joining last summer from National League outfit Barnet. The versatile forward has scored 12 goals and provided six assists so far this term to boost their play-off bid.

As a result, the 23-year-old’s form at Peterborough has not gone unnoticed. And several clubs higher up the football pyramid, including multiple Championship sides, are making regular checks on Mason-Clark.

And we can reveal that Birmingham are amongst Mason-Clark’s suitors as they look to refresh their squad for next season. Blues have endured a below-par campaign which has seen the club languishing in mid-table.

Birmingham boss John Eustace is keen to add more firepower to his side and he sees Mason-Clark as someone who the club can develop into a potential star.

Peterborough are reluctant to lose Mason-Clark, but are bracing themselves for offers for the forward if they do not win promotion to the Championship this season.

Darren Ferguson’s side are currently fifth in the table and locked in what appears a three-team battle to secure a play-off place.

But they do hold a one-point advantage on both Bolton and Derby, although the Trotters do have a game in hand.
