Next Bournemouth manager: Club chiefs in Las Vegas for talks as new appointment plan takes shape

Bournemouth are stepping up their hunt for a new manager with chief executive Neil Blake and technical director Richard Hughes in Las Vegas for talks with incoming new owner Bill Foley, TEAMtalk can reveal.

Las Vegas-based businessman Foley has agreed a takeover deal of the Cherries after buying the club from long-standing owner Maxim Demin.

Bournemouth have decided to look for a new permanent manager after opting against giving current interim boss Gary O’Neil the job on a permanent basis.

O’Neil stepped up to take charge of first-team duties at Bournemouth following the sacking of Scott Parker in August. He was shown the door in the wake of a humiliating 9-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Bournemouth started life under O’Neil well going on a six-game unbeaten run, lifting them up to mid table. However, they have lost their last four Premier League games to leave them just sitting outside the relegation zone.

The recent downturn in form has seen the club opt not to give O’Neil the job permanently, as TEAMtalk revealed on Tuesday.

And now they are now looking to bring in a new boss ahead of the return of the Premier League after the break for the World Cup.

Sources have now told us that Bournemouth are looking to make a quick appointment. As such, key figures at the club Blake and Hughes are in America for talks with Foley to try and push through their plans.

And we understand that Foley is willing to spend big to bring in a new manager. Furthermore, he will provide them with funds to strengthen the squad in the January transfer window.
