Burnley appear to be closing in on another summer signing with reports from Belgium claiming that an international defender ‘will be sold’ to the club.

Clarets boss Vincent Kompany is looking to make further additions to his squad before the transfer window shuts on September 1 and it looks like he is close to a deal for an Anderlecht star.

According to Belgian news outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Hannes Delcroix ‘will be sold’ to the Turf Moor outfit.

The Jupiler Pro League side are currently working on carrying out a few more signings but are also focused on offloading some of their players. And in terms of the latter, they have already started that process with Delcroix.

It’s claimed that the 24-year-old is getting closer to completing a move to the Premier League, with Anderlecht recouping €3million plus €2m in bonuses for his signature.

The Het Nieuwsblad report adds that the Belgian giants will also be entitled to receive a percentage of the profit from the centre-back’s future sale.

Delcroix is already said to have completed his medical tests with Kompany’s side and is set to sign a three-year deal at Turf Moor.

The talented defender was sidelined with a knee injury between March 2021 and January 2022 but he made 36 appearances under Kompany, when the current Clarets boss was in charge at Anderlecht between 2020 and 2022.

Assuming he completes his move, Delcroix could make his Burnley debut in Sunday’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa.
