Sources: Burnley mulling Reggie Cannon swoop after dispute tees up risk-free signing

Burnley are plotting a move for USA international Reggie Cannon on a free transfer, TEAMtalk understands.
Cannon is a free agent after cancelling his contract at Portuguese club Boavista earlier this summer after a dispute over alleged unpaid wages.
Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is looking to strengthen his options at full-back and sees Cannon as someone who could be worth a punt on a free transfer.
Cannon’s speed is one of his standout attributes, while he’d also provide a physical option at right-back or right wing-back if Kompany elects to play with a back five.
The 25-year-old Cannon has won 28 caps for his country and during his three years in Portugal he made 89 appearances for Boavista.
The likes of Nottingham Forest and Fulham have previously been linked with a move for Cannon.
However, we understand Burnley could now be ready to offer him the chance to move to the Premier League and his arrival would tick a lot of boxes for Burnley’s American owners.
