Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks to smooth over Arteta relationship after scathing video chat emerges

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has aimed to smooth his relationship with his former Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta following a leaked video on social media.

Aubameyang and Arteta had a major falling out at The Emirates when the Gabon international returned to the club late after a mid-season trip to France to see his family.

That led to Arteta banishing Aubameyang from the first team. Indeed, he even made the forward train alone, before he left to join Barcelona at the end of January.

Aubameyang has since moved on again to join London rivals Chelsea. However, a video of him criticising Arteta recently emerged on social media.

In the video, Aubameyang is heard discussing his old boss and saying: “Big characters and big players…he can’t deal with it. He needs some young players who don’t say anything.”

However, with Arsenal now sat firmly at the top of the table after another impressive victory over Liverpool on Sunday, Aubameyang has made an attempt to try and play down what was said after addressing the content in the video.

“Aware there is a video out that was recorded just after I arrived at Barça,” Aubameyang wrote on Twitter. “At the time I still had a lot of bad feelings in me.

“Arsenal are doing great things this season and I wish all my old guys well, just not on November 6 [when they play Chelsea].”

After his short spell in Catalonia, Aubameyang is now back in England with London rivals Chelsea.

The 33-year-old has scored twice in four appearances for the Blues so far. He is set to face his old club in early November, when the Gunners visit Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang talks up incredible Milan attacker

Aubameyang, meanwhile, has seemingly given Chelsea the nod to try and make a move for an AC Milan star.

The Blues striker heaped praise on AC Milan forward Rafael Leao after Graham Potter’s men cruised to a 3-0 win over the Serie A side in the Champions League last week.

Aubameyang was on target in the victory but one Milan star seemingly left an impression on the striker.

Leao has enjoyed a string of impressive outings for Milan this season and certainly gave Chelsea problems in London.

That led to Aubameyang telling TuttoMercatoWeb (as quoted by Milan News): “He is an incredible player, truly impressive.

“He is very fast, powerful, he can make the difference at any time. Nothing else to say except that he is unbelievable.”

Chelsea will get another first-hand look at Leao when the Blues head to Milan on Tuesday night for the reverse fixture.
